Re: GTE Overdrive
Actually no Tim, though I see I no reason why it shouldn't be full, car serviced regularly and fluids changed. But, assumption could be dangerous ! How do you check? I guessing under the cover on the drivers side of the transmission tunnel. I had heard some cars have a common chamber for gear and ov...

GTE Overdrive
My overdrive has (again) stopped working. Unlike on previous occasions, the fuse has not blown as the wires that were previously shorting are now insulated properly. When you turn on the ignition (but without starting the engine), place the gear lever in fourth and move the overdrive leaver forwards...

2837 GT Profit and Loss.
I was going through my car's history file today. Just for fun, I decided to quickly put together a realist P&L spreadsheet. I have included the cost of buying the car, importing the car and maintaining the car. I have excluded insurance and fuel as these are the costs of enjoying the car as an owner...

Re: GTE Manual English Version
The English language manuals have arrived from the printer ! I am really pleased with the quality. So, they are ready to ship. All the features of the original are carried over in full color, on the correct quality paper, with cloth binding and a fold out wiring diagram. So now we have a choice of f...

Re: GTE Manual English Version
The English manuals are progressing nicely. It is amazing what a quality printer can do based on a much used original example. I have signed off on the proofs , so watch this space. My wife and I are decamping to Mexico for two weeks before heading to Monterey, this is necessitated by a Presidential...

GTE Manual English Version
Hi, just a quick heads up. I am working on a full color reprint of the English language 250 series manual. Tom has kindly sent me his English copy as a basis for the re-production. The same quality standards and techniques will be used for this book that I employed on the Italian Language version (s...

Re: Veglia Clock Repair
Just in case somebody in the UK with a non working Veglia clock reads my last post.
Research on Speedy Cables was not promising.
Turn around times being the issue.
Instead I sent the clock to Terry Hoyle who “Knows a bloke”
Said bloke has got the clock working.

Re: GTE Electrical Whine
Got it ! Re-visited this and finally got it. It seems so simple now ! The under dash toggle switch operates an after-market electric pump for the screen wash. It was partially hidden by the fluid bag. That is the source of the noise. Will replace it or live without. Thanks to all those who offered h...
