Re: Need Wiring Diagram GTE
One thing that might be worth doing, just for safety, is to put a $5.00 12 gage fusible link on the starter solenoid end of the 8 gage wire that runs from the solenoid to the plus side of the ammeter, and leave the fusible link part of the wire out of the conduit that carries that wire into the pass...

Re: Carb Synching
Many years ago, I wrote a two or three part series of articles for the Ferrari Market Letter on how to set up carbs and the linkage on the various cars. They were also published in the Tech Tips Book that I did with Jim Riff. I believe they are still the correct way to do the carbs. The articles co...

Re: Carb Synching
I think maybe there isn't one on your carburetor. Here's a photo of the one on my Queen (40DFI/5). There is an identical one on the other bore. Is a PF carb the same as a GTE carb? If so, I think maybe the left-to-right plate synchronization has to be done with the little cone shaped tube and the lo...

Re: Carb Synching
John, I agree with Dyke. Although the error created by synchronizing left to right first is perhaps negligible, it is theoretically greater than synchronizing the high-flow venturi first. It seemed to me that the air flow sensitivity was greater when changing the idle speed screws than the changing ...

Re: Carb Synching
Don't forget left to right synchronization. The best thing I have done to improve my carburetor behavior was to start from scratch and reset the plates by resetting the toothed sectors and closing all the air bypass screws. That allowed me to use the air bypass screws to synchronize the left and rig...

Re: FCA Judging
I'm not complaining or "arguing with the umpire", but I agree it would be nice to be able to compete with the trailer queens at a show. I can attest to the fact that just getting to a show without a tow vehicle and a closed trailer makes it difficult to compete successfully - not impossible, but ext...

Re: Oil capacity
Another truism is: The only way a vacuum system gets all the oil is if you stick the tube up through the drain plug hole.

Re: Oil capacity
Ditto the sludge. Also, I used one on my Queen. When it started sucking air only, I was suspicious because of the quantity removed. I pulled the drain plug and another 2 liters flowed out.

Re: Brakes! We don't need no stinkin brakes
OK, five months is long enough to wait for another "stinking brakes" post. I'm hijacking this thread and using it to post a "purist = masochist" post. It had degraded into that anyway. In early Saturday, July 3, during a day trip to the Quebec countryside for a family reunion, we barbequed chicken, ...

Re: Guess which car
Is this what the judges mean by "Over-restoration"? Note the screw slots. On the other hand, shouldn't they be rivets?

Re: Exhaust system
Unlike Mark's tendency toward loquaciousness, I tend to express my experiences in a more taciturn and sententious manner. It is true that I installed a Stebro stainless steel exhaust system on my 365 GT 2+2. I found that the fit is not what I would have desired, but by removing and repositioning all...
