The 40DCN9 supposedly was fitted on some competition 275 GTBs . The problem is if you have only one (instead of a complete set with matching numbers), it may affect the value and only be of help to somebody who is quite desperate.

Interesting -- well, annoying, actually. Paul, I just had a look at all of your posts: http://www.tomyang.net/cars/phpBB2/search.php?search_author=Paul . Has it ever occured to you that it appears that you demand answers on Tom's BB, but you have never answered a question or volunteered i nformation...

Not a bad description of the concepts. However, a few things are worth pointing out: 1. In the context of the Borrani measurements, the "Bolt-up Face" is the surface where the splined hub meets the axle. This is what I meant with my earlier remark "measurements take into account the combination of t...

Will, If you get Ted on the phone, ask him about the Ferraris he had. With respect to Borrani designations, I came to believe that the "RW" in the wheel designation stand for Rudge-Withworth. The Borrani logo gives tribute to Rudge-Withworth by using the hand and spokes of the Rudge-Withworth logo. ...

Will, Your friend is correct. The designations 32, 42, and 52 have no correlation to an actual measurement or the number of splines. I was told these designations stem from the drawing numbers that defined certain types of the original Rudge design. I have been trying to find original Rudge drawings...

Kind of hard to explain without a drawing, but I'll try anyway: Offset is measured from the center of the rim (middle of the wheel) to the surface where the splined hub attaches to the wheel hub. Backspace is measured from the vertical surface of the rim flange (facing the center of the car) to the ...

I don't know if they fit, but I can tell you how these wheels are different: RW3812: Size = 7 x 15; Offset = -25 mm; Backspace = 63mm; Fits 330 GT RW4075: Size = 7-1/2 x 15; Offset = -9 mm; Backspace = 100 mm; Fits 250 GT, 365 GT and BB512 All of this information is taken from Borrani brochures. Hop...

Want to avoid the Oldtimer garage scenario. FYI: The front license plate appears to be a temporary import license from Switzerland (from the region of Lausanne/Montreux). So, the car must have been licensed there for a while. I hope Oltimer Garage had nothing to do with it. Sportcar Market Magazine...

Hi Tom, Congrats on the garage and house. Assuming your garage floor is close to level, you may want to consider a car dolly like GoJak . I've seen 1500 lbs versions for about per pair $200 on eBay. Not cheap, but a geat tool for squeezing several cars into confined spaces. I've been following your ...

In my experience, screens are really only for preventing solid objects from falling through the carbs into the combustion chamber. Little critters like nuts and bolts seem to have a tendency to do that. Screens will not prevent dirt, dust and sand from harming the innards of your engine as described...

Seat knob

Hi Tom, Many European cars of that period had seat mechanisms that were comparable. I believe your assumption is correct about the knob being a reclining limiter, but not for being "folded forward, and return to one of three positions" but to "allow the seat back to be tilted down to a completely sl...
