Thanks for the great photos! I look forward to reading your commentary. As one with a rebuild on the horizon I would be especially interested in any surprises you encountered or changes you opted to make.

Did the springy thingies work? You say you have already gone through two. Does that mean that you bought two and they are still there, or that you lost two?

Geoffrey Ohland at PartsSource says he has had some made, but doesn't want to sell them until he has fabricated some way to keep them from falling off of the car. I check in with him from time to time, but I guess he hasn't done it yet.

It sure would be helpful to have a list of suppliers our members have used and were satisfied with. However, if we do not list suppliers we were not satisfied with, we are doomed to repeat the mistakes that our friends have made before (which can be rather expensive!). One of the benefits of a group...

I purchased a 250 GTE Users Manual ("Ferrari 250/GTE Coupe' Pininfarina 2+2 Uso E Manutenzione") on ebay a while back. I talked to the seller (an individual out of Texas) who said it came with a car he purchased in the mid 80's. I don't know of its authenticity, but it looks old and does not seem li...

Keep is informed on how it goes. I will need my engine rebuilt when I get the $ and Escondido would not be inconvenient.

I will admit that the purchase of my GTE was heavily biased by price, but not by choice. Had the car I discovered in a friends back yard been a 250 LWB California Spyder (my personal favorite), I would not have bought it, as I could not have afforded it. But, due to the lower price of a GTE, I now o...

Fair enough. We havn't had the pressure here in L.A. that you guys have had, but are close enough to Camp Pendleton that everyone knows someone who is overseas. It's good you have something that will take your mind off the pressure and memories that all New Yorkers must have. Keep up the good work!

Grille Cozy???

Ok Tom, I have backed you and your work for probably 2 1/2 years now. However, this "Grille Cozy" worrys me. Are you planning to carry your grille to meets and assemble it there? Maybe you could sew a "Grille Bra" to keep the bugs off when driving!

Sounds like an excellent idea. At $350 it's cheap insurance.

I am still confused on what it does. Does having that pressure before startup get the oil circulating sooner? It doesn't circulate it before startup does it?

I have not tried to get the heritage certificate, but did get the build sheet after multiple conversations with Ferrari. I think the numbers you should use are: Chassis Number: 4823GT (no space) Engine Type: 128F (my build sheet shows the number as 128F/63 (63 being the year), but it is not shown th...

Personally, I am partial to the used mechanic's overalls from Pep Boys. At $10.00 I was able to get a pair for my two girls as well as myself and throw them out when they get too nasty! In addition, my kids get a kick out of calling themselves Ed or Ralph or whatever it says on the name tag. Congrat...
