330 seat restoration

Does anyone have a source for the plastic seat trim similarly configured to the door kick panels on the outboard sides of the front seats bottoms of the 2+2s? Buddy Obara tried bending the Chevy kick plates but they kinked, Michael Bayer

Rudy: If the radiator is clean and clear and all else in good repair, the engine temp ought to hold spot on that of the thermostat (I am a fan of 165 F, not the 180Fs most guys run) while (and only while) the car is underway in nearly all outside temps. In traffic there are too many variables, see t...

They are called weep holes and make quite an impack preventing inside out rust, you will also need to drill holes in the resonators and the mufflers to enable the system to expel all the accumulated acids and water that otherwise condensesin side and causes the inside out rot, you will not notice an...

The 330 2 plus 2s in the CAVALLINO Guida

Gang: Take a look at your next Cavallino Guida and contrast the disaggregations of the various models listed. Some examples: the 355s (separate listings for 8 variants), 456s (separate listings for 3 variants, one for auto v manual transmissions), the 308s (separate listings for 8 variants). I would...

Rob: A great source to start is the book THE ORIGINAL FERRARI V 12 by Keith Bluemel, still in many bookstores for sale, his text details much of the fine points, just remember the Factory did not always stick to the script! Michael Bayer #9727

A minor annoyance

From this you can tell the weather prevents driving my 330 and I have too much time on my hands: Does anyone have an extra one of the white circular tags on the distributor cap numbered "4" or know where I might buy one? For some reason that one seems to have flown off to Marelli heaven. Please, no ...

166 inter

Guys: I have just about completed work on my 330GT, # 9727, and am looking for car number two. I am thinking about a 166 inter. This is not my "STOP ME BEFORE I RESTORE AGAIN!!!" scrawled on the bath mirror, I know full well the vintage driving characteristics of this era car. But, from the "greasy ...

Pulling front springs

Guys: My new front springs are soon to arrive. Any insights as to the best, and safest way to remove the old ones and compress the new? With the weight off the tires is there much stored energy? Is there a tool that will work? There seems too little exposed coil to capture with a traditional spring ...

ANSA exhaust for Series II

Guys: I just put two new rear exhaust halves on my car. The rear ANSA pairs I took off have very solid pipes, very good chrome tips, but garage rot on the bottom of both resonators and some on the last element of one side, the resonators are solid from the midseams up and all the insides are there. ...

I had mine recored, all the difference, engine runs cool, w 160F thermostat almost too cool at road speed w AC 170C. You must slightly tilt forward the top if it has ACand alternator by shortening the top two mounts. Looper Radiatior in MD did mine, later Buddy Obara's, it is cheep and in exchange, ...
