Re: Hood badge ID please

Here are photos from the Enzo Ferrari museum in Modena that show badge variations over the years. Sorry for low quality iPhone photos, but hopefully they will help identify your badge:

Re: Personal Thanks

Still not working! The one that keeps appearing is 2000 and this one is 2020. Congrats Tom -- your car looks amazing. It's been a very long journey, glad to see it nearly completed. Echoing others comments -- thanks to Tom Yang for creating this community -- all content, no drama -- that's unobtani...

Re: Horn Detailing

I hate to post a negative comment, but I believe the pump body should be wrinkle black. Period photos show that Fiamm produced the pump in both black and silver, but I suspect car manufacturers would choose pump body color based upon how it would blend in its factory mounting position. The rationale...

Re: Dash restoration

I believe it is teak. Hopefully more people will chime in to confirm or correct that assertion.

Re: Dash restoration

Beautiful car. Teak is very durable wood, which is why they use it on boats where it is heavily exposed to the elements (sun and salt water). All teak gets dried out over time so that it looks horrible, but it usually will go back to looking like new with proper cleaning and application of oil. I wo...

Re: Gauge lighting

I spent a while last night trying to find warm white instrument lights. They are NOT easy to find because there there are several important criteria that need to be met. My experience with LED's is that it is impossible to know for sure if they work for an intended application until you try them, bu...

Re: Gauge lighting

Once you get out of standard hi-volume LEDs, the range of temperatures available diminish to one or two. There is not enough market to have a choice of multiple temperatures. When I looked at these bulbs a few years ago, there was only the bright white bulbs. Hopefully as LEDs become that standard,...

Re: Gauge lighting

Great work Kerry (as always). Agree with Tom that it would be amazing to see how 3000K or 2700K look, if they exist. Having the right color temp is everything with LED's.

Re: GTC toggle switch knobs

It might help to post a close-up photo of a switch. If the switches are good and the paddles are removable, seems like an ideal candidate for 3D printing. Are these the same switches? -> https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-MGB-Cobra-MG-Triumph-Single-Throw-2-Position-Toggle-Switch-Genuine-Lucas/16337293428...

Re: 330 GTC “whatever it’s called”

Rustoleum's hammered paint is very good. I used this on Fiamm horn restoration and was very happy with it (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Stops-Rust-12-oz-Hammered-Silver-Protective-Spray-Paint-7213830/100115594?bvrrp=1999/reviews/product/2/100115594.htm). That paint is good for up to 200 de...

My 1966 (slightly later than 250's) Fiamm hoses I believe are original and have no lettering.

Re: 330 gtc hood support bolts

It's a bit "apples and oranges", I know, but Kerry's "finishes" page for the 330 GT is a work of art -> http://www.330gt.com/Encyclopedia/Finishes.htm It always surprises me how many differences there are between the GTC and the GT (or between the series 1 and series 2 GT's for that matter), but I t...

Re: Vapor lock solution for carb cars

I've tried wrapping the fuel rail feeding the 3 carbs with insulation and it seemed to help a lot. I just did it as a not very clean temporary test, haven't had time or decided whether I will put something in more permanent, but it did seem to help a lot. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned wrapping ...
