Re: GTO at the track
Not fair to Tom. I've driven an old right hand drive alfetta through Paris at 3:00 am at 120 mph. No sleep for 24 hours, raining and the heater did'nt work, damned Italians! In this instance however, nobody was looking... Driving a ~$20+ mil.( market dependent) car rhd, on a not so familiar track wi...

Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration
Sorry A.D. This digression is probably not helping you. I seem to remember way back, that you had some contaminated fuel in your car. As I recall this fuel may have gone through the newly rebuilt carbs when you first ran the engine. This my friend, may have something to do with your problem. Mike Pi...

I like your English, it's better than my German. Anyway, I get it. All is not what it seems with women and Ferraris!
Cheers

Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration
Does this mean that owning a Ferrari requires a lack of self control? Reminds me of the old Warren Zevon song: "excitable boy". I wonder if Warren ever owned a Ferrari?

Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration
One important thing. The timing port on the 365 gt2+2 is on the underside of the bellhousing. During the production run it started out on the top side, right under the coils, just like the 330's. In fact my car retains the port at the top. The manual shows the top port and this of course is where I ...

Re: Oil Filters
Yale is right, if not uncharacteristically brief. Baldwin B253 filters work great, I just ordered a dozen for about $12 a piece, which should get me to 2016. They are stout and do not leak oil when you unscrew them from the filter housing. Fram filters are crap, but they are period correct.

Hi Timo:
I want to know what the correct finish for the heat shield should be.
Thanks in advance.

Re: 365 gt 2+2
Hi Tom:
I bought them from gt parts, and they fit just fine. Am I missing something? Are they suppose to have a computer chip or a good house keeping seal?

365 gt 2+2
Greetings All:
I am replacing engine mounts, therefore I have removed the headers and associated hardware to get there. The starter heat shield came off with the right side header. Mine is bare aluminum, is that the correct finish?

Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration
Hi A.D.
Too bad, but at least you got the light to go out.. Perhaps you might try leaning out the center carb a bit. Just a thought.

Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration
Hi A.D. That light may be part of your problem. If your car is left hand drive, reach down under the dash to the right if the steering column. You will find a lever. It may be concealed under the leather trim panel that covers the underside of the steering column. That lever is the choke or "starter...

Re: Grandpa's 250 GTE...
I remember seeing the car in the early 80's in Eugene. I was a starving student and I used to keep my MGA in a rented garage near a hair styling place. The 250 GTE was sitting in the parking area adjacent, looking very much worse for wear. I remember thinking at the time that it was the most bondo t...

Re: words from the front
Hey Yale: Good to know the status. I guess you could play it safe and just buy a flatbed for your 330. Perhaps Tom Y. would like to drive the flat bed and you and 3 friends could motor in style, without putting miles on the car... You would gaze out upon a superior vista, populated by lowly Toyota P...
