David, I believe someone posted a reply to me a while back stating that plastic filler was used, but I find that hard to believe. When I stripped my 330 I found lead in all the usual places, including around the door handle indents and leading edges of the doors. I have had similar experiences resto...

330GT in last month's Forza

In my opinion, the editorial content of Forza magazine has not always been the best or the most accurate, but entertaining none the less. That said, couldn't they have found a better example of a 4 headlight 330GT for their article? At the very least, they could have photographed the good side of th...

Small world

As some of you know, a little over two years ago I bought GT #7137 from a gentleman in Pennsylvania and had it shipped to California. The car was literally stored in a barn for several years and he had never transferred ownership. This past week, my mother was visiting from Pennsylvania and the car ...

Pontiac - Yes - that's the guy. He did the panel work (basically restored the entire body) of my Ace Bristol. Outstanding workmanship.

Filler from hell

Well, after putting off the inevitable for two years, I finally started stripping paint off my 330. The hood had been dropped on a battery charger by a previous owner that left a nice little peak right in the center - so that was the first to tackle. The hood looked pretty straight otherwise, and I ...

Now thats something you don't see every day! The post is a little misleading, but I think what he is saying is that you get one set of bumpers for 3000 euros (or so).

My wife and I typically visit the Concorso every year in Monterey. As I mentioned in a previous post, this year we decided to partcipate in the new event at the Quail Lodge with our non-Ferrari race car. The Quail event was VERY low key - almost like a garden party - but the quality of automobiles w...

I wanted to give accolades to GT Car Parts as well. Bill has been able to supply me with some pretty obscure stuff and his prices are VERY reasonable.

Ernie's 330

Hi Michael, Glad to see you posted here. You and I met at Ernie's place the day you bought the car, and I have ridden in that 330 many times. For those of you not familiar with Ernie Mendicki, he was an original founder on the Ferrari Owners Club and has owned MANY top shelf V12s including a Tdf, a ...

Quail, Concorso, etc

The event at Quail Lodge on Friday is called "The Quail - A Motorsports Gathering". This is a joint effort of Gordon McCall and Steve Earle (of the Monterey Historics). My understanding is that this is an invitation only (I may be wrong about this) event featuring LeMans racing cars. There will be a...

Tom and all - My wife and I usually stay at the Double Tree. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend the Concorso this year as I have other obligations at Quail Lodge (will be showing my Ace Bristol and have vintage motorcycle stuff to do). We'll also have a booth and "mini-museum" of vintage race ...

330

Some old Italian guy stopped by our booth (Vmoto) at the Wine Country Classic at Sears Point this past weekend and said he had sold that very car to Fantasy Junction (for more than what the reserve is) and that the orginal owner was 80 years old. Mind you, he had a thick Italian accent, but I'm pret...

330 on ebay

Wow! My car is an interim 330 too! And it is a 65 with 75K miles! It must REALLY be rare! I'm curious what his reserve is. I haven't seen an "ordinary" GT go for $100K for a long, long time.
