Sounds quite like internal vacuum leak of the booster.

Re: A project possibility
Even with $ 0.99 bid one would be under water, if attempting somewhat proper restoration (?), assuming the new owner would be able to do most of the work him/herself without any labor costs. And assuming, of course, that the $ 0.99 would be the winning bid. , but true.

Gentlemen,
I think Tom is asking if anybody here has experience of importing a car from Canada to U.S. (i.e. applicable taxes/duties, paperwork, etc...) ?

Re: Heater hose
I've just last week finished a such job and having had given the choice to the owner between readily available, closest in U.S. size / manufactured (1/2") and "O.E.M-type" replacement (which btw, even from "known" sources, isn't quite correct either, or at least has not been on the few Daytonas I've...

If you Finnish is up to snuff, look at Kare's website: http://koti.welho.com/kpietil4/project/marelli.htm Google has a Finnish/English translator, but doesn't do a very good job on this: http://translate.google.com Perhaps Kare can chime in and tell us what he used. Well, basically he first poured ...

Daytona Air Cleaner Cover Seal
Would anybody have good picture(s) of the seal/gasket between air cleaner housing and its cover lid on a Daytona, that would depict size, (profile) shape and location in somewhat verifiable original application ? Thanks !

Casted plate at the back-end of the pump. The one that caps the end of the pump and to which the diverter valve bolts on.

All correct, Michael.Michael Bayer wrote:Mine is bare metal dull not polished (I failed to mention the clutch is not of US manufacture) M
I'd also like to know how Your "end plate" (?) is finished ? Wrinkled or just "plain" black paint ?
Thanks.

Re: Daytona Smog Pump Color ?
Michael, I wholeheartedly agree with most all points You make. To support my suspicions of this particular pump being "replacement", besides the color it had (now changed), are the (later than the cars date of manufacture) casting date of the body and couple of other minute details, which none are d...

Re: Oil Recommendations
Andrew,
with all due respect, but in most cases switching to different (="thicker") oil will not cure leaks. Leaks are usually occurring when something other than lubricant is amiss.

Re: Daytona Smog Pump Color ?
Michael, thanks for reply. As You might know, I'm a frequent user of D. Registry too, but unfortunately haven't had too much luck there either regarding this and although I wholeheartedly appreciate/support Pauls efforts, the pictures in the "authenticity" pages often (although I'm sure, unintention...

Daytona Smog Pump Color ?
This is a, hopefully quick, survey of smog pump detail on a U.S.-spec. Daytonas. If you have one (or more ?) and/or have extensive knowledge on the issue, could you please answer if the main (center) body of the pump is painted (silver?) or not ? And whether you believe it's current finish is "origi...

To any one who might care,
aforementioned "pins" are not actually pins, but instead tail-ends (?) of (nylon) plastic that's been injected through the small holes in the housing into a groove surrounding the bearing to act as a locking devise for the front bearing (sort of a "nylock ?).
