330 America for Auction
William - do you have any links to pictures of the car or know how much the opening bid might be? What was the Reserve last year that didn't get met? Any ideas?

250GTE vs. 330 America
The difference is that the 330 America got the new 4.0 Liter engine which offered better head cooling and other advantages besides the increase in displacement. Ferrari used the same motor in the 400 Super America and rated it at 340hp, but conservatively rated the same engine in the 330 America at ...

2+2 Recommendations
Since you're considering a 365 (so did I), and a 330, why not consider a 250? Like you, I wanted a classic 2+2 that wouldn't break the bank (under $100K acquisition cost) and wouldn't bleed me of my mortgage payment each month to keep it running. Having looked at 365's, 360's, 456's, and 550's -- on...

330 America Badge
Tom - as you know, my car goes in for a 2-month restoration this week. It will be back to factory-issue originality when I get done and hoping for big things from Frank on the leather interior work. I would really, really appreciate that extra 330 America badge you found at Jerry's shop. I've asked ...

License Plate Tid-Bits
Tom - here are some ideas for your license plate that I considered for mine: Rare 64, 1 of 50, Amore.
I ended up getting "La Vita" for mine.

GTE Guages
Tom - I'm "in" for a set of the small guage lenses (excluding clock), but would rather spend a few extra bucks to get them done nicely (e.g. silkscreened) than gamble on vinyl and then endure the frustration of doing them again in 3 years.
Let me know the costs and I'll send you funds.
Thanks,

I ordered the seat belts from Andover Restraints this week and expect them next week -- hopefully installation won't be a pain. Car is driving well after a re-cored radiator and $4,000 in hoses/rebuilt carbs/tie-rods, suspension bushings and a host of other minor items. Looking for a steering box (N...

Be cautious guys because they (Bonhams) are the auction house I purchased my 330 America from over Christmas. They omitted sending me a condition report on the car and revealed to me (for the 1st time) in the middle of my telephone bidding that the car had prior accident repair damage despite the fa...

Need Steering Box for 330 America
Gents, Its been a while since I've been on the forum, but I finally got Texas license plates ("La Vita") on my 330 America in late April and have put about 500 miles on the car. It drives nicely except for the annoying slop in the steering box. Its been "tightened" as much as possible and I've just ...

Art - no, actually I just got Texas license plates on the car last week and put my first 40 miles on the car. It drives nicely but its still got some small items to be addressed (minor cracks in the Nardi wheel, mirrors that don't adjust very well, etc.) that I'll get to in May. I've already purchas...

It looks better than I expected. Its in very good condition and is complete (except someone stole my shifter knob while in transit through US Customs in Houston -- so I had to "win" the Lusso shifter off eBay tonight to replace it.) The interior leather is very good (no cracks/tears) but had an olde...

I think I'm going to drive the car through the good weather (which in Texas includes up to November) and then do a proper interior/exterior restoration on the car to factory color code. I'm hoping Frank (East Coast Auto Trim) can give me a competitive quote on rebuilding my seats and recovering them...

Interior Leather Replacement
Guys - looks like my build sheet shows the interior was originally blue but its been dyed to black (not a very good job either). I'd like to restore it back to the factory color since the "hump" (console area) leather needs to be replaced anyway as does the carpet. The front/rear seats are in better...

Guys - got my car today (finally) and will have the kick plates cut and applied by my body shop in a week. The length looks to be less than 12" (my door panels have a long map pocket) so I'll have plenty of left over aluminum for at least one more set of 250GTE kick plates (perhaps 2 cars worth). It...
