We have always been welcomed wherever we went, and our visitors have usually been interesting as well. One man in Kansas bought all the stored murals from the US exhibit at the 1895 Chicago Worlds Fair and is having some restored to museum quality for display. A family in Italy had lived for 20 year...

Travel cheaply & safely in a vintage Ferrari

Most Ferrari owners (and their insurance companies) want Ferraris garaged or otherwise safely stored overnight. There is a cheap way to do this, and meet interesting new people. The "secret" is private bed and breakfast clubs. If over 50, look at www.evergreenclub.com. If over 40 and/or travel a lot...

From sam231 Also, you lucky stiff. I was told the track was not offering the lunch tour so my car never made it around. That's what I get for talking to a big honcho who supposedly knew everything! It was confusing. Some of the FCA folks did not know how to do this. A track person said to go back to...

1,777 miles & FCA2007

Like many other comments in the threads about FCA2007, Tom Yang's East Coast party, and the various west coast events -- I wish there were more people who really drove their classics. These cars are magnificent to drive, and were never meant to sit on pedastals. With all the great Ferraris there are...

Dear Tom, I think you have a good point with the lifestyle/branding reasons that motivate many people to buy a current Ferrari. That said, if I were rich, a new 612 would look quite nice in my garage as my daily driver - next to my 365. Alas, the daily drivers in our household are a Mazda 3 and a BM...

My right hand window motor was noisy and jerky, but I think it was from infrequent use. With more frequent driving and use, it has become much smoother. Sitting, unused, was likely the problem with mine.

On a 365 GT 2+2, the emergency trunk cable is under the fuel cap flap, and both cables show in the body parts book diagrams. I see only one cable on the 330 GTC body parts book pages, leading to the area behind the seats.

A famous race car preparation book starts the electrical section with something like this.

When you begin to prepare your new race car, find every part that is identified with LUCAS, rip it out and find something else to substitute for it.

Jim Walker

Agreed, the mirror is UGLY. On the other hand, you might actually be able to see something behind the car in the mirror. The much more correct and better looking Talbot on my driver's door is virtually useless for seeing anything behind me. Another solution to avoid problems with the lack of vision ...

Thanks to all for the info. Some new product would be welcomed by many folks, but the info from the C4 Registry is really fascinating. It would still be interesting to learn if anybody had a decent experience with a less expensive domestic solution.

Koni Load Leveler Substitutes - 365 GT 2+2

This is also posted on Ferrari Chat The threads on this subject often mention using other types of load levelers (Monroe, Gabriel, etc.), but I could not find any specifics on brand, part numbers, mounting adaptations needed, etc. My Koni levelers are dying and I want some type of adjustable load le...

People in the age range of roughly 50 to 80 had the opportunity to see contemporary press and movies about Ferraris, Maseratis and other similar-era classics when they were winning races and providing the top-of-the-line luxury GT cars for successful people. I am 62 and my magazine collections go ba...
