Re: valve adjustment screws
I hear you loud and clear and I am sure your way is the wiser choice. It really wasn't the cost per say for my decision. Things just turned out that way. As you say, we shall see and pay close attention as things go along. Nevertheless, thanx for your sage advice, Cornelis. w/ smiles Jimmy

Re: valve adjustment screws
Remember me ? If I may chime in (since someone mentioned my name). Well, as for my 275GTB outcome, this iswhat happened. I searched, pondered, and took advice of my broker friend (who I trust). We decided to custom fabricate the screws from scratch at this racing car shop that my friend trust. The f...

Winter Storm
I understand nasty winter storm has arrived, affecting the Northeast in particular. Just wishing all is well despite the snow and cold. Years back, I lived in western Massachusetts for few years so I understand how nasty winter storm can be. I was in LA early few weeks ago and it was unusually "cold...

Re: Cause? Excessive Wear of 275GTB Valve Lash Adjuster Screws ?
Thanx for the opinions. At this moment, I am waiting for a response from Mr. Roelof's shop regarding the kit and also the new screws could be ready this week. I shall wait and see how things work out. Can't wait to see the improvements in sound and feel of the corrected engine ! Thanx again. I shall...

Re: Cause? Excessive Wear of 275GTB Valve Lash Adjuster Screws ?
Gosh, Kare...this whole thing is getting awfully technical for a simple mind like mine. As for the engine oil, I believe synthetic racing type engine oil (Agip ?) is used being told that breakdown of compound is far slower (ie. lasts longer ?). I'll call the guy up tomorrow to double check this. Tha...

Re: Cause? Excessive Wear of 275GTB Valve Lash Adjuster Screws ?
Thanx for helping me post those pics, Tom. I am a simple guy, I trust this mechanic who seems to know what he is doing. Even tho this whole thing is a bit nerve wrecking, I am glad that we caught this issue before serious damage occured. Meanwhile, I am still waiting for a reply from Mr. Roelof rega...

Re: Cause? Excessive Wear of 275GTB Valve Lash Adjuster Screws ?
Thanx again, Cornelis. The previous owner had resto work done in Italy few years back and that may be where the problem started. At least, the shop I have the car in now (in Tokyo), the guy knows his trade. For the time being, he despatched order to a race shop to fabricate new screws. See how that ...

Cornelis: Thank You for your advice to check out Mr. Roelof's shop. I am a bit familiar with this shop but never ordered as yet. I shall check this out. I am amazed as to your driving routines. Splendid ! Meanwhile, I was curious as to the cause for such rapid wear, or is this how it is ? Thank You ...

Cause? Excessive Wear of 275GTB Valve Lash Adjuster Screws ?
Decided to ask for opinions regarding excessive wear of valve lash adjuster screws (?), which was discovered by opening the covers to check for noise. Initially, I had the 275 in shop to repair a hairline crack in the radiator (which is okay now). At the same time, I have been concerned of certain e...
