Re: Cavallino 2014

At the 2013 FCA International Meet & 50th Anniversary celebration the 2+2 class consisted of my C/4, Mark Dempsey's 365GT 2+2, and a 456 whose owner I never met. Mark and the 456 won Platinums, I got a Gold, and Mark won the Class Trophy. I think there were 11 Daytonas in theri class. Where ARE all ...

Re: Rejuvination of Ferrari leather

Jim, Thanks for the posting, something we tend to forget until it is too late. I first used Leatherique on my old 330's seats in 2004 just after buying the car. They were not as hard as yours but were dry and on the verge of tearing. Rather than taking the seats apart and dealing with the leather se...

Re: A big step forward for 4247 GT

Tom,

The car looks great, MUCH further ahead than what I saw on our visit. Congratulations! The way things are going you could have it back on the road well before your birthday.
I cannot make Radcliffe this year so take a lot of pictures and post them for me.

Cheers,

Sam

Re: Werner Pfister

A sad day. A bunch of us learned about Werner's passing on Sunday as we gathered for lunch to watch a tape of the Maylaysian GP and listen to a presentation from our guest speaker Alain de Cadenet. We held a moment of silence for Werner, and I know all wished he could have been able to join us for l...

Re: 2013 Gooding Amelia Island Auction

I recall seeing an article a short while ago from a British newspaper saying classic or collectible car prices had risen about 685% in the 10 years ended 12/31/12, the second highest return of any asset for for the period. The HAGI Index may have been the source for the article. [urlhttp://www.histo...

2013 Gooding Amelia Island Auction

For those that have not seen the results, prices of 330 GT 2+2's may be moving up. The '66 Series II they had for sale went for $242K presumably with buyers premium. Yowza! Some of the other Ferraris did well too, like a 275 GTS for $1M+....did someone say bubble? http://www.goodingco.com/all_auctio...

Re: YOWZA!

Follow on to the post - Classiche certified, factory rebuilt 330 # 8523 sold at Bonhams for $275K with commission! As some one remarked on Fchat it was offered for $135k in 2010.............I guess the consignor made back all the money he spent at Ferrari and thensome.

YOWZA!

The vintage car market is certainly hot for rare cars, but for ours too. A grey series II 330 2+2 at RM Auctions in Arizona sold for $192,500. Very nice car with good provenance, but wow! A series I in partly diassembled, moldy condition sold for just over $108,000 at a Bonhams auction in Scotlkand....

Re: Cavallino 2013

Hi Mark,

I am out too. I lost my free lodging - daughter Sarah got married and moved from Delray Beach to Concord, NC - maybe I am going to have to convert to NASCAR

Cheers,

February 2013 FORZA Articles

Check out the latest issue of Forza and you will recognize a wonderful and familiar, at least to those on the East Coast, 250 SWB in an article by Alan Boe and Dom Miliano. There is also a great article by our own TY on some frustrations of preparing cars for concours judging.

Cheers,

Re: John Fitch RIP

Very sad indeed. I bought a Fitch Sprint Corvair with all the trimmings from a friend at college in 1969 who had it built by Fitch and raced it at Lime Rock winning his class. I romanced my wife in it, although she got tired of rolling down her window to let the smoke out every time a drop of oil hi...
