high pressure oil hose

I just replaced mine this Autumn. The original hose was a braided galvanized finish, and it appeared original. No finish other than it's natural patinated appearance. I had Bill at gt car parts install new hose of the same type onto my original fittings. God only knows how he did it.

gaskets

Hi A.D. The extra gaskets that Mike sent you are just that: extra. When I was installing my carbs I had the same question. Mike said he automatically packs the shipment with all of the variations on gaskets just in case. Sounds like you got the installation correct. Be aware that there is also a fil...

365 gt

When I was painting my car, I ran across a few issues...

The moisture barrier between the doors and the panels were fashioned from hefty trash bags. The stereo speaker wires were lamp cords.

The best part is that I found old playboy foldouts under the carpeting in the trunk.

carburetors

Hi A.D. I just finished setting up my rebuilt carburetors. Mike Pierce was and continues to be an excellent support person. One thing you can do besides rebuilding the distributors, is to check the intake manifolds for flatness. If the base of the carbs are warped, chances are the surface of the int...

carb/clutch

Hi A.D. Well, my time spent in the confessional with Mike Pierce worked out well. I have my car running great. The mixture screws are about 1.5 turns out just for reference. The results are very promising. The only thing bothering me is that there is a slight hesitation just off idle. I will consult...

dfi rebuild

o.k. I am in the process of setting up my carbs. I was on the phone with Mike Pierce this morning, getting some coaching. He informed me that I had to clear the line because someone from India was calling. A.D., you owe me a beer, or at least a chai.. Seriously though. I had some good luck with Mike...

wheels

I used zinc-chromate primer inside and out on the wheels before the finish coat. I think zinc-chromate is now illegal, but there must be a replacement paint?

Anyway, the wheels remain un-blemished and the tires hold air....

carbs

A.D. I want to let you know what is going on, regarding the carburetor rebuild. Mike Pierce and I sent out feelers for a used carb body. Mike was more successful than I was. He located just the body, for about $500 USD from a source in England. The rebuild process is back on track. Hopefully, I will...

carb rebuild

I would not hesitate to send your carbs to Pierce. They have the equipment, parts and knowledge to get the job done. One of my carbs was bent at the base more so than the others. I knew this going in. The troublesome carb body is now flat at the base, but not perfectly round in the bores. That means...

caruretor

Hi All: Slightly off topic, but relevant. I sent my carbs to Pierce manifold for a rebuild. I will spare you the gory details. Suffice it to say that I am looking for (on Mike's recommendation) for a DFI/6 carburetor body. My #1 carb body has assumed a posture that connot be fully reconciled. Any he...

Thanks, Warren for educating me on the finer aspects of VE and CE, much appreciated.

Now I know why Yale has worn out so many sets of tires in a relatively short span of time.

Thanks guys, for educating me on M152's. Perhaps one day I will raise a glass of "Newfy Screech" to the sight of one.

Hey Steve: I looked up M152 on the google, which indicated that it is some type of microphone. Since you list your cars in an order of magnitude based on their fossil fuel consumption I am curious... My initial thought was that it is one of those 50's vintage Messerschmitt bubble cars, but perhaps i...

V12's a controlled substance?

Yale has mentioned in his lengthy and informative "couch session" of ownership that he bought a 911. I guess he bought it as an anesthetic or perhaps a kind of automotive version of methadone treatment. I believe Kerry has done something similar by virtue of a 308.... Contrast is always welcome, it ...

hydrocarbons

Yes, Rudy A coffin shaped car the Prius may be, and certainly it will serve us well in that capacity. However, the beauty of this arrangement is that the the folks that are buying them are unaware that they are making available more fossil fuels for V12's. This information is not revealed in the Toy...
