Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration

Hi A.D.

You might try K & N, they seem to have filters for most cars.

it would be good to go to goodwood

Hey, since I am on a recession schedule, I am thinking of crossing the pond, for the revival, plenty of time on my hands these days. Any info on a reasonably priced b&b or hotel in the proximity of the venue would be appreciated. There's a pint of bitter in it for a successful recommendation.

scuf plates

Hi Tom:

Yes, I would like to see the photos of the "Bavetta Sotto Musone". If you have dimensions that would be even better. mark@marktraversarchitect.com

I guess we wait on the scuff panels, too much money at this point.

Cheers

scuff plates

Hi Tom: I have a cad drawing of the plates and I have made a few sets, but not with the correct pattern of metal. You probably know that the original material is aluminum. I will be happy to help with the fabrication process if suitable stock becomes available. By the way, would you happen to know o...

parts

Hi A.D.

Try the ricambi america website, they have the parts manual right there, with the part numbers. I have also had good luck with McCann for parts that seem unobtanium.

Cheers

engine mounts

Hey guys:

Anyone have the pleasure of replacing engine mounts in a 365 gt 2+2?
Do the headers have to be removed?? Where is suitable jacking point?
Thanks in advance.

a/c

Hi Dan:

The compressor uses 2 kg of refrigerant. It took a while to track that down which is why I remember it.

Enjoy the drive down, it is a beautiful stretch of the West Coast. I recommend highway 1 which is the preferred route of travel that I use to get to Monterey each August.

Cheers

webers

Thanks Jim:

I will have a look at the linkage. I suspect the fittings on the end of the linkage rods. They seem to be a bit worn as I recall.

vibration

Thanks all for the input. Jim: Your point is well taken. After reflecting on the intent of what you said it becomes a matter of figuring out a way to evaluate and synchronize the three carbs at the transition point. I believe there are two components to this point of transition. 1. When the progress...

v12 vibration

Jim is on the money. With careful attention to synchronizing the carbs, front to back and sise to side you can realize tremendous refinement. This of course depends on how out of whack you are to begin with. My limited experience with webers suggests that a lot can be attributed to air leaks. if the...

engine mounts

Greetings all: I am contemplating the removal and replacement of the engine mounts on my car. Has anyone gone through this? If so any helpful hints would be appreciated. The questions I have are as follows: What location is safe to jack the engine while removing and replacing? Is it necessary to com...

indicator switch

Hi Andrew: Indeed I have had the pleasure, of removing this beast. Not too difficult really. What you have to do is remove the plastic molex connector from the wires. It is fairly easy to do. Just depress the locking tabs on each connector and back them out. Naturally, make note of each wire before ...

the dealer claims "no rust". Jeez, he should check to see if his pants are on fire.... The interior is nice too.

carb bolts

Hi A.D.

I attached my carbs using a simple end wrench (spanner) I tightened everything in slow sequence. I used some hylomar on the gasket surfaces.

So far there is no distotion or leaks.
