Update: Here is a pic of the new Pertronix wires installed in the tube to the proper length. I matched the old wire lengths for cutting the new wires and added an inch to be safe. Note the Pertronix wires have no writing on them and are 7mm so they will fit in the tubes. Silicone spray is your frien...

I go by GS, but the "G" does not stand for Gregg, Greg or Gus. In high school I went by my middle name (S), but later on when I was racing, I began using my initials because of the commonality of my middle name coupled with my last name. That was over 30 years ago and it has stuck ever since. Okay, ...

Yale: I was not trashing a 4HL 330, they are terrific cars, its only my calculation that a full up restoration on one with rust etc is underwater for decades at yesterday's prices. I figure after buying the car another 200K is required , if you have one together and running that is a differnt story...

Let me play the optimist: The money pit for a 4HL car, after the motor, is getting them all back right, a 4HL car in this state is not going to be worth doing this for 50 years, until then it still is a terrific car to blast around in if you could get it going. So Tom Shaughnessy might be 1/2 right...

Both the pages in my GTE owner's manual as well as the 330 GT owner's manual show that the ignition terminals of the coils are equidistant of the firewall. Rudy van Daalen Wetters 1963 GTE s/n 4001 1966 330 GT s/n 8705 I understand what you're saying Rudy and it is an easy fix. The orange wires to ...

Update: The pic shows the Bosch blue coils painted the Marelli red. These coils come with the correct brackets, which I needed as both of my brackets were cracked/broken. The ballast resisters have been eliminated. Note the Marelli decals on the bases of the coils. Both MSDs have been mounted in eac...

Packard 440 is definitely solid metal core, non-resistance type. Thanks Deane. I ended up buying two V8 Pertronix Universal 7mm black spiral wound sets with the straight spark plug boots. Both sets cost me $80 from a local distributor. These Pertronix universal sets come with the spark plug ends an...

Sorry about your misfortune Tom. Your correct in saying, at the end of the day, it is only a car. Removing the head on these puppies is a lot of work so you may want to replace all of the seats. Of course, as we have seen, there isn't any guarantee that you wouldn't have get back into it for another...
