Re: My GTC died on the freeway...argghhhh!

Don't forget, we are back to the boiling point of todays gasoline. These fuel systems were designed for fuels with a much higher boiling point.

Re: My GTC died on the freeway...argghhhh!

Steve; There are no relays in GTC electric pump wiring from the factory. you either had a switch failure or lost power to the switch itself. Check the fuse and make sure it is not corroded.

Re: Hard to start Daytona

Steve: Good to see you back on the forum and hope your health is good. Opinions are like armpits, everybody's got them. So here are a few observations: 1. We have had ethanol (E10) fuels in everything from Duesenbergs to the newest cars for over 25 years now with ZERO problems. The cars always start...

Re: 1967 330 GTC - Clutch helper spring

Sold my GTC years ago, but looks plausible. The hole should provide a reasonably straight "pull" for the spring as the pedal is pushed in. The spring acts as an over-center assist.

Re: 1967 330 GTC - Clutch helper spring

There is a horizontal hole in the dash panel above the pedals where the "adjuster #34,35 goes through the panel. Look for the "adjuster", it might still be there. All the cars had them. Lots have broken the springs by now. A real PITA to install, takes lots of pressure to stretch the spring.

Re: How do you determine steering box oil level?

John: Another person just asked the same question on Ferrari Chat. If the seals are not leaking too much, 140 wt is fine. I have used 250 wt also and it will work without any problems. I would not recommend 85/140, as it will seep out much easier. Generally, if you can see oil is covering all the in...

Re: 6 carb setup vs 3 carb setup

Tom: I have never known a correctly tuned "factory built" six carb car to be either hard starting or to foul spark plugs. Without a doubt, many later private conversions are not set up correctly and can have problems.

Re: 6 carb setup vs 3 carb setup

Six carbs produce 20-25 more bhp. Three carbs produce slightly more torque at lower rpm.

Jim: Only the later cars have the return lines. They start to appear in the 8000 number range.

Re: Vapor Lock 330GT

Peter: Sorry, but forgot to tell you it also adds 50 bhp and 25 mph to the top speed, as well as doubling the gas mileage!! Like others I have not seen any benefits to using MMO in modern cars. Very interesting comment about lubricating the throttle shafts. I tend to agree with your thoughts.

Re: Vapor Lock 330GT

Peter: You raised some good points, so let me try to clarify them: 1. 250 GTO's do not use the FISPA mechanical or electric pump. They have two of the Bendix electrics. I think Ferrari found the Bendix pumps were superior to the FISPA electric units. Primarily their "points" systems are much more re...

Re: Vapor Lock 330GT

Kristian: The screw slot on the top of the glass bowl fuel filter is supposed to adjust the pressure, as the upper part of this component is a pressure regulator. I have seen many of them react as yours did. In all honestly, it sounds like your fuel system is functioning "normally" and as designed. ...

Re: Vapor Lock 330GT

Kristian: 1. Have you measured the pressure produced by the mechanical pump? You should have 4-5 psi. 2. The original purpose of the electric pump was to fill the carbs on cold starts, and to ASSIST FUEL SUPPLY UNDER HARD RUNNING AND HOT CONDITIONS. The factory expected this to happen and provided t...

Re: GTC Suspension bushing specs. wanted

Tom: The coating is teflon. If most of the teflon has survived, all the bushings need is lubrication and reassembly. You can buy just the teflon inner sleeves and replace only them also.
