It could well be that you need a new voltage regulator. But the first thing to do, I think, is to find the fuse for the regulator, take it out, clean the fuse end and also the contacts in the fuse box from which it came. Did a powder coat too once: I had the plenum on my 308 QV powder coated with red wrinkle. Looks very nice. But it is a somewhat finer wrinkle than that on the black 330 cam covers.

I agree with most of what has been said about the cam cover painting. When I did mine, I first painted the inside with Red Glyptol insulating varnish. Gee, I bought a Alfa Romeo Spyder from him in 1961
and picked it up in Switzerland with Italian EE plates.
The deal was done at his horse ranch outside of Palo Alto.
