Re: Power Windows in my 330 GTC

Was wondering if XS current might be flowing because of a fault in the switch? It did feel "sticky" as I said. Thinking of running some jumpers to the battery and seeing if the motor gets hot when the switch is bypassed and the motor runs directly from 12V. My friend and I put PW in my '66 'Vette co...

Re: Power Windows in my 330 GTC

Tom, thanx so much for your interest and help. A 12V test light only lights the wires going through the door to the motor when the switch is operated. I'm thinkin' this has to do with that #^%%$%^$ three terminal block. Guess I could always take off the other door panel and replicate that (seemingly...

Re: Power Windows in my 330 GTC

I'd would be grateful for any input on the above post. Here's an update, and thus my consternation: I drove the car this AM and the (new/rebuilt Ford) motor does seem to work, better going down than up. However, with minimal use, the finger switch going up felt "sticky" and the motor was slow. Since...

Re: Power Windows in my 330 GTC

OK, I found that the Ford PW motor I'd put in the car back in April, having worked 30 times or so, had given up the ghost. When out of the car and hooked to a 12V source, the ground wire of the motor became super hot, melting it's own sheath instantly. I put in another motor yesterday and it works g...

Re: Borrani wheel cleaning

Cornelis, I (and everyone else, I think) meant all of this IN FUN. (Right, Rudy?) Hope nothing got lost in translation here; that can happen when we get to be too clever tossing around idioms, etc.
Regards, as always. s

Re: Borrani wheel cleaning

Hey Cornelis, all I need is some Viagra to solve my electric window problem (I guess this would be EWD since they won't go up!) Quantum physics was easier than those $#%&&^ windows. My PWs follow Planck's Constant...they're constantly a PITA. s (BTW I use the stuff sold by Dayton Wire Wheel on mine....

Re: Power Windows in my 330 GTC

Argghhhhh! Damn window on the driver's side quit abruptly! Fuse blown, which suggests that the motor died and it's newly rebuilt. Just when I was thinking I had this one closed out. Haven't had time to pull the panel (yet again...I should just velcro the damn thing in.) to see what happened. Gettin'...

Re: Power Windows in my 330 GTC

Tom, Call Terry Myr, and tell him I gave you his name. Excellent Italian car mechanic and very, very knowledgeable about this stuff. He couldn't rebuild my motor 'cause, like the right motor, it was shot and not salvageable. 810-367-3965 in Michigan.

Tom, Keep me posted. That's a good decision, I think. I just thought of someone who can rebuild your Ducillier if you want. Let me know. steve

Re: Power Windows in my 330 GTC

I'd call the T-Bird Sanctuary and have them rebuild your motor. If they can't, they can tell you which motor is most appropriate. I don't think it has to be that exact, but I'm no expert. steve
