Re: Pictures from Goodwood

Andrew You are making me jealous. There were some great cars there. OK you are on for a visit next year. Goodwood, Chelsea et al. We should arrange an en mass visit from Oz. I guess some septics could also join in. Keep those great photos coming. I for one really enjoy them and your descriptions are...

WOW WOW WOW Thanks Andrew. The photos from Chelsea were fantastic. A few OK cars there !!!!!!! Holy crap. Is that show on every year? I have not heard of it.
Thanks again for posting so many great photo albums. Us peasant paupers can at least live vicariously through them.

Re: Another seal question

no it's not a 4x7 rectangle, it is a 4 x 3.5 rectangle, the 7 mm is taking both sides into account. Rithmatick is not the strong point of the Neanderthals on this site. They just barely can tie their own shoe laces. That is why so many of them wear slip on shoes. They claim it is for comfort but we...

Re: SoCal Vintage meet

Gee Tom you missed a great photo opportunity. With the wheels on a photo taken from a particular angle would look like your car was finished. All you needed to do was push the old girl out onto the road, sit in the drivers seat grinning out the side window and Zac could have taken a photo. Post that...

Re: 3787GT

The whole drive train would need to be upgraded to handle the HP but it would be funny to see the faces of other GTE owners when you were out driving and gave it some gas. Wow. But seriously a period 250 engine must be found to make this beautiful car a real car again. Or put in a 330 motor to make ...

Re: Driving old bangers

Ha - I recognise some of those cars and characters! I hope you didn't let Peter Pless, Rob Bailey and Carl Jones anywhere near the Rally :D Andrew Andrew No. Although very low, we do have some standards and thus those 3 were not invited. http://www.tomyang.net/cars/phpBB3/posting.php?mode=quote&f=2...

Driving old bangers

This is a link to an event in Australia we had about a month ago. You vintage nuts might like both the slide show and aricle. They do have GTE content.

SoCal Vintage meet

I will come all the way from Australia to attend if I get a ride in Tom Wilson's GTE !! Maybe Tom could load it onto a trailer for an outing just to prove he does have a car, and I am sure the GTE would enjoy the outing having been locked up inside a garage for so many years.

Re: Progress on Brakes

Hi Steve, BTW, I'm striking out on the seals for the equalizer. T Rutlands sent me one seal, but it wasn't even close. The search continues, but I'm open to suggestions. Tom Tom I do not know if this helps but I rebuilt my Koni levellers for a C4 with custom seals (Koni use an odd 21.75mm diameter ...

Re: 20 mph in 4th gear?

While rereading a bunch of my 1960's magazines, I noticed that they kept referring to how the GTE could smoothly accelerate from 20 mph while in 4th gear. Anybody out there tried that? Gee Tom, why don't you try this yourself ?? Only kidding but I do agree with Cornelis. I hope the galcier is at le...

Re: Very curious items on E-Bay

Zac
Can you post the story of the history of the 1287 motor? Is it known? Is it a Lampredi or Colombo? How did it get out of 4031SA/3097SA into a Cal Spyder etc ?

Re: Very curious items on E-Bay

Zac
Why is the motor listed as from a Cal Spyder 1663 yet the motor has 1287 stamped on it? Presumably an engine swap sometime. Does the current owner know what 1287 is? It's history etc?
