New 330 GT Springs - report on results
Hi Guys. I just installed the springs I had custom made for my 330GT which were specified 15% stiffer, to compensate for the higher front end loading on a Series II with Air and power steering. The factory specification is for the lower control arm to be level (parallel to the ground) +/- 3 mm. You ...

Drive a Ferrari instead of a Buick?
Hi Art. I can't believe you think I should not drive a Buick Roadmonster to the next gathering - I might lose my AARP card. My only excuse is the Corvette engine, the NASCAR suspension, and the KONI shocks. I should have taken you for a ride in the Buick. But just because you said so, I will drive t...

New Estimates - 330GT, 330 America, 250 GTE
Are there any comments on Keith Bluemel's Estimated Values just out in Cavallino? GTE - 75K$ to 125K$ 330 America - 95K$ to 135K$ -(take a long vacation, Tom!) 330GT - 45K$ - 100K$ COnsidering the upper end is defined as "Excellent" but not "Show Perfect" these numbers are surprising to some. But no...

Hi Yale: I didn't read it as criticism - just inquiring as to what all us pseudo- engineers were doing. As to what is right , the only base line data I have is from a manual which shows the lower control arm being essentially parallel to the ground. This sets ride height for a given tire size but sa...

Hi Yale: Actually, Ferrari is the most cavalier, by not providing updated specs for what had to be somewhat different springs for a car with AC and Power steering, and thus more weight on the front end. Just as Mercedes, Ford, Plymouth, and Rambler did, among others. Those were cars I had parts book...

Springs and Ride Height 330 GT
Hi Zac I ordered a pair from a place called Coil Spring Specialties, which was recommended to me by a local commercial Automotive and Truck spring dealer. I gave them the factory specs, which for a 330 GT are listed in an earlier post on this thread. Since a late 330 with air and power steering obvi...

Transmission Gear Oil Specs.
What weight gear oil should be used in the late 5 speed transmission? My service manual ("Service Manual With Latest Revisions") only covers the 4 speed + o/d transmission. Is there a readily available service manual to cover the late models.

Spring/Ride Height.
Zac - thanks for the offer. If it is not a lot of trouble, I would be interested in the specs, to compare with what Ferrari listed for the 330 GT. I think you are right - old springs, even those never installed - might be a problem, even if you think they are the correct item off the shelf. As I did...

Front Coil Spring Specs - 365 GT 2+2
Does anyone have access to front coil spring data on the 365 GT? It would be interesting to compare with the 330 GT specs. Or does anyone have a set of 365 GT springs they would like to get rid of?

Right/wrong side of the road
Steering wheel on the right is merely a symptom related to circulating in the WRONG direction at intersections contrary to the laws of nature.
You know the kind of intersections I mean, we have them in NEW ENGLAND.

Spring rates/ride height.
Hi Michael: That is kind of what I was planning - but one question. Were you referring to springs from domestic cars, or foreign ones (or both)? I would have to look around some to find any collection of the latter. One alternative is to calculate from the geometry what the actual spring properties ...

Ride Height.
Hi Kerry and Micheal. Looks as if the springs are at fault. My distance ground to fender lip is 25"", and the tire diameter is right. Also, upon further research, the manual shows the lower control arm should be essentially horizontal; in my case there is a substantial upward slant toward the outer ...

Front Spring and Ride height 330Series
Just completed mechanical rebuild of my car (330 10069) including front end rebuild. Although the springs and seats were replaced, my mechanic and I both think the front end still LOOKS a bit low. I bought the springs many years ago from FAF using the part numbers from the manual. And the cars have ...

I concur with respect to mine. I have always supposed the wheels were not the originals, although the swap took place prior to 1974. It does raise a couple of questions. Does anyone have any idea of how many cars came with the alloy wheels, and how many were fitted with the optional wire wheels? Whi...
