Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration
I believe the 365 2+2 brakes are Girling brand. 330 GTC is girling too, same as Jaguar XKE. I got all the parts I needed through a Jaguar supplier far cheaper than the Ferrari suppliers, even the handbrake parts are same as XKE. Of course I can't say for sure if it's the same situation for the 365, ...

Re: Fuzzy Strip
Try Restoration and Speciality Supply, Metro molded rubber and Steele rubber, they all carry universal window sweepers, you should be able to match up or modify something. I'm lucky because I have an auto upholstery supply shop close by so I just walk up and match what I need.

Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration
Before blaming the carburators have you done all the preliminaries such as valve adjustment, plugs, wires, points, timing? Your problem maybe electrical. Spitting popping carbs is usually not from rich mixture. If you are smelling fuel at tail pipe, it could also mean some dead cylinders are just pu...

Re: Finding TDC
Hi Steve so how can you find TDC with no flywheel or distributors and the heads in place? How about this, turn engine upside down, at the point of max travel of the rod cap or piston toward the head, and with both valves closed, this will be TDC of the compression stroke. Maybe rig up a dial indicat...

Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration
if I understand, you say that when cylinder #7 is at TDC that PM 1/6 is showing up? If this is correct then your timing for that bank would be off 60 degrees! If you are confident you have the right bank 1/6 timed correctly to AF 10, all you need to do to check 1/7 is rotate the engine to TDC PM 1/6...

Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration
That is not a seal, it's the harmonic damper. I've never had one redone but I understand it can be.

Wow, The three above are all different, and not just from production quality and wear.

Re: 330 GTC lower door weatherstrip
As you can see below the "J" profile which is about .8" on the long leg, .5" on the short leg and .4" thick overall. Also notice the composite construction which seems to be a softer inner core sheathed in a thin harder layer. It seems a bit complex for it's purpose. IMG_0289.JPG IMG_0288.JPG IMG_02...

Re: 330 GTC lower door weatherstrip
My car (11157) still has this weather seal in place, just as you describe.
It's got a "J" profile with three notches cut into the bottom edge to allow for the door drains. It's almost rock hard on my car and considering my car is unrestored, it's probably original.

Re: 330 GTC Horn Motor Cover
But I wonder why they covered the horn compressor with this plastic cup not giving any more access to the oil nipple to lubricate the compressor. Dieter Another wonder is the only way to take the cover off is to remove the barbed hose nipple, and that is hard to remove too if the red hose has taken...

Re: engine sealant adhesives
Howdy Steve, I've become somewhat of a convert to Loctite 518. I took the recommendations from this site and started using it on fuel connections but have since used it on the cam covers, water pump and transaxle seals among other places. I like it because it's easy to remove and never "glues" thing...

Re: 330GT brake fluid reservoir loss
That's what my MC looked like, of course now you know the booster is contaminated. That one nut on the booster mount is a b***h to get off. I ended up getting it from inside the engine compartment by removing the resevoir bracket and swinging it away, then modifying a wrench and using a flat wratche...
