Hi Tom,
Yeah they're pretty bulky, and the way the buckle comes across the seat, would eventually scuff the leather. After all the struggles I've been through with my seats, I would hate to have the seats get ruined by those meanacing buckles!

Hi John, I remember the car well. Francois had mentioned the car to me before I bought my 330 America because he heard of the chicken coop the car was stored in out in NJ. If my memory serves me correctly, it sold for somewhere at $75K. That was crazy money back then because Lussos were selling for ...

Hi Ian, I don't think I would worry too much. The large oval chassis tubes are pretty strong as long as there is no rust. It's the jacking points that the factory provides for the tire jack that I rarely trust. These receivers are thin gauge metal and with the slightest hint of corrosion, will defor...

Hi Andy, I actually thought about that possibility, and measured the width of the boiler before I decided what size door to put in! When it comes time to change out the boiler (hopefully later that sooner!) I can remove the door off its hinges and the unit can be muscled out! Thanks for keeping me h...

Hi Michael, Let's see, small cars, little engines, rare parts,...what's not to love? ...but seriously, I think the answer comes from a thread from last week. You buy and restore what you're passionate about, not what someone else deems good, or practical. Tom P.S. Congratulations on finishing the 33...

Yale is right, I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to make this site cover some of my expenses. It all started with a need to document my Ferrari restoration in an organized manner instead of having a shoebox full of pictures like my previous cars. When I started this website, there wa...

Hi Koll, I'm sure it has to do with the surface of the plastic, and how reflective it is when it's new. Pollution, acid rain, and sun, all work towards damaging the surface of this plastic. Any imperfections on the surface will mar the reflective surface, and help loose that "new car" look. I bet if...

Hi Koll, If your lenses aren't too chipped and damaged, the Eastwood buffing wheel and polishing compound especially formulated for plastic is pretty good. The only thing you need to supply is fine grit sand paper. I would sand down the scratches in the lenses with progresively finer grit paper star...

Hello All, If you'll notice, I started showing a few ads on the top of the journal pages to the restoration diary. It's a way to keep the suppliers who want to advertise on this site from filling the message board with "stickies." If you'd like to advertise on a website that reaches Vintage Ferrari ...

Hi Rob, Talk of the liquidity of Ferrari cars makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end! There are far better investment opportunities for your money than Ferraris, and if that's your concern, don't buy one. If you want to get a reasonable amount of money back from your Ferrari when you se...
