Cleaning as indicated in the above note should clean up most dust etc. If the paint is in good shape, just wipe them down and let dry. Then use some non solvent based material such as Scott's Liquid Gold to add a long lasting nice look to them. Another product from Meguires, is their #40. It is used...

I have had good luck with the Bosch WR8DP platinum plugs in 250, 275, and 330 engines. Reguardless of what brand of plug you use, always wipe some Neverseze compound on the threads, as the alloy heads are famous for corroding the plug in the threads, and trying to force them out may strip the thread...

The batches of incorrect screws have been dumped at various flea market operations and are mostly gone by n...

Although any of the older Ferrari washer bags would look OK, the Lusso had a two hose cap on the bag. If a single hose cap and bag are available try it for looks. Tom Shaunassey usually has a few washer bags around. Jim Riff, Lusso 4537.

When doing the valve adjustment, always take the time to completely remove the adjuster screw and inspect the tip for damage. If there is anything but a smooth curved surface, replace it. Remove the screw only when the cam is in position to adjust the lash. After all is done, RECHECK all of the lash...

Yes, I have had the same problems on the British cars and have dumped the Lucas pump for a good Bendix (or the current maker) pump. For Ferrari, I always say stay origional if concourse or resale is in the future. For every day driving most any modern 2.5 - 3.0 psi electric pump should do. Jim Riff

As a rule of thumb, wave washers were used where the nut or bolt tightens agains an alloy (alu) part, and a split lock was used against steel parts. There are some exceptions, such as the suspension assemblies where a castle nut and cotter key is used or a nylok nut is used. Nyloks are not used on h...

Ever wonder what the steel hammer is for in the tool kits, possibly to gently tap the base of the electric fuel pump to get it started in an emergency! Actually most of the problems come from two sources, first is the junk the are now adding to our gas that hardens the diaphram and causes it not to ...

For those who do not have access to a powder coating shop in their city, the ability to diy is still applicable. Heat is the main item to a good wrinkle finish, as is a clean surface. If the old wrinkle is not too bad, possibly just an over spray is all that is needed. Many of the better wrinkle spr...
