Re: 330GT 2+2 Bodyshell Rebuild

Thanks again Cory, The front jack tubes were still in my car, so I cut and replaced the steel around them for the inner sill (you can see one in my picture on the first post on this thread) The rears were completely missing, so I made these like the front and welded them into all three steel section...

Re: 330GT 2+2 Bodyshell Rebuild

Top Work Cory, very impressive and an invaluble record of the detail in these cars construction. Again thanks for sharing. I have spent the day working on the engine bay again, repaired the louvre side panels today, made up new sections and ran out of daylight, so tomorrow, all being well I'll get t...

Re: 330GT 2+2 Bodyshell Rebuild

Thanks again Cory, This is great pictorial information. Yes I have re-built the rockers (called Sills in UK) as you have explained. The small bit of old cut out floor I had attached to the old inner sill where the carpet fits shows the sandwich construction with a fibre insulation between. I presume...

Re: 330GT 2+2 Bodyshell Rebuild

I'm still in search of some good photographs of a 330 floorpan with carpets removed, so that I can replicate it correctly. I have the first 4" along each side of the car, before I cut it out to rebuild the inner sills (so have the levels and one side of the seat runners, so all reference points are ...

330GT 2+2 Bodyshell Rebuild

I thought I’d start a specific “bodyshell repair”thread for 6727. Here are a few photographs showing the task ahead and progress so far in repairing my 330GT 2+2 Series 1 bodyshell. 6727 was cut apart to be used as a donor for a 330LM replica. By sheer chance I was talking with Callum Hewitt (DJ Chr...

Re: Question on 330GT 2+2 dash vents

With the weather warming up a little this week, I finally managed to clean up the vent knurled locking rings and spring clips. http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii221/DarrenLCollins/330coachwork001_zps5c04d17e.jpg Then assemble them prior to bubble wrap for the final big assembly when the shell is ...

Re: Tools for the toolkit

I bought a grille that goes on the scuttle between the wipers off Tony Randazzo. He was a pleasure to deal with, so I can echo Mike's remarks above. The traders on Ebay have generally been very good and reliable except for a very rude dealer called "rusty-tubs" that I was unfortunate enough to have ...

Re: Question on 330GT 2+2 dash vents

I got the dash vents back from the chrome platers. After all my hard work and more polishing before plating the Mazak came up flawless again. http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii221/DarrenLCollins/330vents2002_zpsf365aaaf.jpg So I set about detailing the vanes by re-painting the lost black areas. h...

Re: Question on 330 Door Frames

I have spend every evening last week and most of this weekend working on the mangled door trims. After about 30 patient hours getting out the dents, bends and hundreds of scratches they have come up really well. The Finished Door Frame Trims http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii221/DarrenLCollins/33...

Re: 330GT 2+2 Door Checkstrap Questions????

Thanks Michael, consider 1 pair yours.

I do need to know the measurements for drilling the split pin hole first and if shim or bearing washers are fitted eitherside of the check strap.
Can someone confirm please?

Kind regards
Darren

Re: Question on 330 Door Frames

Today I took the door frame trims I’d bought earlier this year out of storage. The stainless steel trims were very badly bent. They looked like they’d been taken off a car by Uri Geller! http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii221/DarrenLCollins/330doorframetrims001_zps3efc0f12.jpg They should be flat....
