Tom,

I suppose none of us had the presense of mind to thank you for organizing that get-together, afterwards. It was actually a great deal of fun. Thank you.

The first question to ask is whether the nose shaft of the 330 gearbox would fit the end of the 250 crankshaft, i.e., would the splines match. If that is not a problem then why not try to adapt the 250 bell housing to the 330 gearbox, so you can stay with the 250's original clutch actuation?

Cam Cover paint

I just ordered a can of wrinkle paint from Eastwood. I realize alot has been said about this. How can I get the finer and tighter wrinkles, as opposed to the larger flakes look.

Thank you for any advice.

Rudy, If the vibration happens at standstill then you should consetrate your efforts from the transmission noseshaft forward. The driveshaft is irrelevant. On the flip side, have you checked to see if all twelve cylinders fire? Remove the exhaust shields and with the engine running put a drop of wat...

Rudy, I have had vibration occur after a clutch change. But, if you haven't had any replacements of the sort then... A friend had a similar vibration in a 275 engine (fitted in a Lusso) and the problem was chased down to a bush at the point where the gearbox nose shaft and the ceankshaft meet. Sorry...

Matt, The 50's and early 60's cars' floors and bulkheads were made of two layers of metal (often aluminum) sandwiching a layer of asbestos. Your car however is most likely a one-piece fibreglass tub. But even if there were no asbestos, even if it is wool or cotton, I would wet it, and wear a mask, b...

Luke, While you are trying different tricks suggested here, you may also consider un-fouling the plugs after getting out of a traffic jam. It is generally done by running the engine in the third at 4000+ RPM for a few miles. It's a trick used in slow and go rallies like the MM. If it happens too oft...

Tom W, I have taken a Jag 120 apart for restoration and it seems outside toothed washers were used everywhere around the body and sometimes in the engine. Ferrari, however, like to use wave washers almost everwhere. I personally prefer the toothed washers for electrical terminals, as they provide su...

275 GTB

Matt, Could you kindly tell me the length of those three short push rods that activate the carb throttles. I may be too late here, but would like this ASAP, as I will be going to Pierce Manifold tomorrow morning for an errand. He sells these rods and I want to make sure to get the right lengths. Tha...

Matt, I put about a cup per fill-up. The bottle has directions on it however. I used to buy it in the large metal cans and transfer the oil to a long-necked bottle a little at a time for easier filling. One thing though, with the kam-tailed cars like your 275GTB and the Lusso, is that they create a ...

Scott, Since you asked for opinions, this color looks just barely okay on the Lusso. I don't think it would look neary as good on a larger 2+2. I am a big fan of lighter metalic colors for "luxary" Ferraris, mostly blues, grays and greens. The dark red that is on this Lusso is best suited for the 50...
