Re: TDC confirmation
Hi Tom, not to beat this to death but my age is showing as I left some of the meat out of the sandwich in my last post. You of course must have a piston stop or a way to verify that you have not gone past tdc, dial indicator ,modified spark plug, etc. Get close to tdc note # on tape .Reverse to stop a...

Re: TDC confirmation
Hi Tom, another thought. First question, can these engines be rotated in the opposite direction without harm? If not, end of discussion. If so, attach a pointer near the crank pulley ,place a stip of timing tape to the pulley, rotate in one direction note # when you hit the factory #,rotate in opposit...

Re: Vent window glass seal
Hi Kerry, Jaguar E type roadster suppliers can get you the soft sealer strip used on the top of the windshield. Comes in a strip about 3 inches wide and 6 feet long, plenty to do numerous pieces of glass. It wraps around the edge of the glass and the excess is trimmed with a razor blade after the ch...

Hi Tom in SoCal, that picture of your son is great! He will learn a great deal about cars etc. but also about patience, problem solving and the like. Also cool to be able to do it together. The hobby needs more young folks as by all reports it seems the car culture is not what it used to be.Good luck...

Hi John, I had new lines made. Braided SS with Teflon inside. Black shrink wrap around the SS and they look original with no worry about internal swelling. Good luck, Mike

Re: Steering knuckle
Dear all, I try to disassemble my steering knuckles because there is to much clearence. But there is no direct access to press the pivot out because of the nose piece for the rubber damper. I do not want to use raw forces or burner heat in fear of damaging something. I assume it is a cone fit. Any ...

Hi Markus, have you given any thought to casting them yourself out of cold cure black resin? I made some knobs for my C4 and they came out great. Very easy to do with kits available online. Good luck, Mike

Re: No good coil
Hi John, without seeing it I'm not sure about this suggestion. Sometimes the arm will ride up or down on the post.A small O ring stretched over the post or a plastic or fiber washer split and placed under the point arm should keep it above the screw. Could you use a screw that has a head that protru...

Re: No good coil
Hi John, I once cured a spotty running condition on my car by cleaning and securing all the connections on the resistors. Also a good idea to clean the coil towers themselves as arcing can occur there. Good luck ,Mike
