Re: seals/gaskets for around the wiper wheelboxes

Hello again, Not sure a straight tube would work, there is a profile at the bottom which when compressed would seal. Typical Ferrari, trap the water where the metal is.... Comments about "everyone is different" is correct, the majority of what is available suits the Mini - I guess there is probably ...

Re: seals/gaskets for around the wiper wheelboxes

Hi Gary, thanks for the link to the Sunbeam parts - there will be other things that work in that catalog, but sadly the gaskets are not one of them.
I will take some photos and get dimensions today.

Rgs,

Andrew.

seals/gaskets for around the wiper wheelboxes

Hi, Just fitting new wiper wheelboxes to the GTE and discovered that there was a rubber seal on the old ones that does not seem to be available from cicognani or re-originals, or Tex who make the wiper arms/wheelboxes and other Lucas reproductions. Has anyone else tried to find these seals, they wou...

Re: Replace/Fix GTE Fan Clutch

Hi Guy's, have a similar set up but the electromagnet is bad.
Does anyone have a source to rebuild the electromagnet?

Andrew.

Koni Load Levelers

Hi, A friend of mine here in Brisbane has started rebuilding the load levelers. He can offer an refurbishment service for $1600/Pair. He can also, in an emergency (upcoming pebble beach springs to mind) do an exchange providing he gets a serviceable set. He developed the tool’s, has the correct part...

Re: 250GTE Rear Springs and Shocks

Hi Mike, Tom, Tim, Cory and the Super one, Dave, I have looked briefly and making new springs with the material available here, which is 6mmx50mm, and the advice so far is that it may not fit as the keeper leaf has such a savage roll on it around the eye of the main leaf. But, that might be the only...

Re: 250GTE Rear Springs and Shocks

Hi, another rear leaf spring question. Apparently the 4mm thick material (4mm x 50mm) is made from unobtainium here in Australia. I need one new main spring, I have a guy who has the correct mandrel to bend the eye, arch and re-assemble but I need to find a source for the leaf spring itself. I a per...

Re: 250GTE Rear Springs and Shocks

So I figured "while we are all talking about rear springs" I would ask a question. At the top of the leaf spring assembly there is two leaf's that appear to be "intertwined". There seems to be no way to easily separate the two and paint them and reassemble with the correct rubber separator. Unless y...

Re: 250GTE geeks

3835, a Series 2 car does not have the coilovers. I am pretty sure it was a Series III thing, so what's that - later than say 4093?
I have the big valve engine however. Woohoo.

Re: Painting "the car"

Hey David, Yes I did confirm that this was the original colour, we painted some test panels and compared them to cleaned and polished sections that we found during disassembly, and it all matched. All the research I did on paint color codes was really a time wasting exercise, all I really learned wa...

Re: Trim Pieces below the rockers

Hi Guy's,

So what I gather is:
1. These are a black satin finish, not polished like I see in most photos.
2. No one supplies the "T" head bolts, you gotta make em.

Good result - as always. Thanks for everyones input.

Regards,

Andrew.

Trim Pieces below the rockers

In a recent post Tom pulled the trim bits below the rocker panels off a GTE - these run each side of the car. I recently sent mine off to be straightend and polished. Couple of questions. Is a bright gloss polish anodising the correct finish. Anyone sourced/has available/made/saw once in a shop/ the...

Re: Painting "the car"

Thanks for all the tips guy's.

Anyone got an opinion on the satin black engine bay color - PPG, Wurth.... Etc.

Later.
