Re: Making concours correct 250 Battery Cables
When assembling either the post or lug terminals to a cable; it is best to have a good mechanical crimp prior to soldering. If solder alone is the only mechanical attachment then heat from long cranking could soften a solder alone attachment, and loosen the cable. As a matter of fact it is good prac...

Re: 330 Engine Bay- While You're In There Tasks
Some things to think about while you are in there: mechanical fuel pump (Viaton diaphram), radiator flushed, motor mounts, flush brake fluids, grease all front zerks. These are very easy to do with the engine out.

Re: MM GCA 113A Alternator 365 GTC/GT 2+2
There is an insulator under the positive stud/post on the inside of the alternator, be sure it did not melt too. Melting can occur from a few different problems; loose cable attachments causing heat and/or shorted diodes within the alternator. be sure that both are inspected before refitting to the ...

These repo fan belt boxes were made by Ted Peterson (RIP) long ago and sold by Parker. Ted was a long time Ferrari owner, and an a long time friend. He did industrial design and was a talented artist.

Re: 330GTC Electrical Question
If you have 12.8 volts into the 4 way terminal block and 10 volts out from there it does say there is a voltage drop in that block. So remove all the wires from that block including the two jumper wires, clean everything; wires, jumpers, screws insides etc. This jumper block is a constant problem fo...

Re: 330GT Front suspension
John has the intended way to remove the spring, but please note the cir-clip is very hard to squeeze and remove. This may take a larger heavy duty tool, but it works. Note there are two grooves that the cir-clip can be seated into that set the ride height.

Re: Hard to start Daytona
Steve,
I do not know about the various styles on the these, but the orange floppy ones I get from GT Parts in Phoenix are resistant to todays fuels. When removing the old original factory ones I have noted they are hard as a rock and not pumping fuel as they should.

Re: Hard to start Daytona
You may be on to something by looking if the accelerator pump squirt in each choke. The pump diapharms go bad from the rotten fuel. They are easily changed and make a big difference when replace with the newer more resistant ones.

VW still used them until recently, most VW dealers and shops that service VW or build sand rails have stocks of these ceramic style fuses.

Re: Exhaust popping 330GT
Exhaust leaks are a common source, ignition may be another. Use your timing light and check the advance curve on the distributors at idle and 42AM on all cylinders, 1-6, 7-12. there may be something not right with the points or advance weights. If you may recall, cars at the drag strip using all the...

Re: Cleaning Spoked Wheels - Lend me your Pro Tips!
I have used "NEVER DULL" for the alloy portion of the wheels with great results, and the grandkids with little fingers for the spokes! Be careful with brushes so that they do not leave marks in the soft alloy part of the wheel.
