Where to get paint (Glasurit, Dupont, Sherwin Williams) from vintage color code?
Apologies for the non-Ferrari question, but this topic should be equally relevant to Ferrari and any other vintage cars. Where is the best (or any?? :)) place to get automotive paint mixed from vintage color codes? My brother is having his 1966 Sunbeam Tiger repainted in original "Commodore Blue", a...

Re: Vapor Lock 330GT
Has anyone else tried wrapping insulation around the chrome rail feeding the carbs? That's the only change I made (and pretty poorly with temporary velcro insulation for now) and it seems to have helped a lot. I finally had a chance to do an extended drive in hot weather last week when I went to a c...

Re: Vapor Lock 330GT
Peter: You raised some good points, so let me try to clarify them ... Well, so much for my memory, but at least I spelled "GTO" correctly :). Thanks very much for the clarification. I can feel the difference when I run MMO in the 330. I'm not a fan of additives generally, but never heard a negative...

Re: Vapor Lock 330GT
Does any of you have any further suggestions? Would it help to relocate or replace the main long metal fuel line that crosses path with the exhaust? Did I miss something? Have you tried wrapping insulation around the chrome fuel rail that feeds the carburetors? The fact that non-ethanol gas doesn't...

Re: Vapor Lock 330GT
I've never seen anybody mention this as a solution, but I saw a pretty large improvement by putting fuel insulation around the chrome fuel rail feeding the carbs. I used insulation that wraps around the rail with velcro as a temporary test. I haven't really put it through the paces on a very hot day...

Re: 330 GTC horn compressor lubrication
Internally, there is a bit of wadding that is supposed to absorb whatever oil you insert. it's on the air intake side of the air compressor, so every time you operate the horn, a bit of oil gets sucked into the compressor, oiling the compressor vanes. I'd love to see an internal photo to see where ...

Re: Hood badge ID please
A GTC uses a flat badge. Maybe someone can look at their car and report: curved or flat? and what car. It is a nice badge, I’d like to get it into the right hands. The badge on my 330 GT S2 is curved. It's kind of hard to see the curve with the reflection of the paint, but if you look at it from a ...

Re: Hood badge ID please
Thank you, yes the 1960 looks the closest. What about the curved back? By eye, it looks roughly the same curve as mine, but no way to know for sure. In most brands, the same badge fits all cars. Without thinking about it much, I've always assumed it was the same for Ferrari, but looking at how curv...

Re: Hood badge ID please
Is this a 330 GT hood badge? It measures 35 x 59.75.36209D8F-429B-48DB-8753-EFDC3F919ED8.jpeg4E3F53C4-DE26-45CF-BB61-D668B724B09F.jpegB4056BAA-5961-4ECA-8BFF-6E4107CEB91C.jpegB7D5F3CF-EF28-4408-903E-EC0B86B263A1.jpeg I think from the museum photos, yours seems to match the 1960 version best, so it ...
