Sounds possibly like a bad connection in the radio or power circuit. If the radio was added or has been removed there is a chance one or more of the ground wires may not be securly grounded. This is espically true at the antenna mounting point. If rust or an open cable shield on the antenna cable is...

When installing old fittings on the ends of new hoses be sure to clean the fitting area that inserts into the hose very well. Some old hose material or sealant could cause drips. I wire brush them well, or have them replated. After applying a gas proof sealant to the fitting such as the mentioned Hy...

Here is a simple reply, one that I feel is realistic. Keeping a Ferrari as origional as possible is somewhat a part of collecting these fine cars, much as those who enjoy the same theory in say stamp collecting. The rewards are as previously stated something to be proud of, and it pays off in the co...

Most batteries will not last long if deep discharged more than a few times, even worse if they are the older non maintaince free types. As for all black batteries, the NAPA line looks quite well, and with Parker Halls stickers look nice under the hood/bonnet. As stated FCA does not deduct for non or...

To recap on the electrical side of OD analysis; a simple way to run through the circuits for functionallity is to use a small (5A) battery charger to energize various components of the OD without the fear of burning anything up. Simply connect the negative clip to a good chassis groung and proceed t...

As noted, the correct hose clamps are very important in concorse judging. With the higher degree of restoration that these cars are obtaining the small details are all that is left to pick on in the classes. If you just want to drive, any good clamp will work. As for cad vs zinc, either should look ...

330GT2+2 parts car

Just returned from GT Car Parts in Phoenix, and they have a 4 headlight 330GT2+2 parts car in inventory. It seems mostly complete, except for some trim and interior stuff that is missing. The engine, gearbox and OD are sitting next to the car. All of the steering and chassis stuff is there. Jim Riff

Dryslide, and many others of similar make up are sold at most motorcycle shops. The bikers do not like oil residue picking up dirt. Note, these "cable lubes" have a unique applicator for control cables. A small clamp fitting that grasps and seals the cable end while the pressure in the can forces th...

I have noticed that ACE Hardware carries a wide selection of the common metric nuts and bolts. For high strength engine bolts always check the stamp on the bolt head 8.8 to 10.9 etc., and obtain them from a knowledgable source. Ferrari dealers carry a good but expensive selection if you need only on...

My 275GTB/4 does not have a choke or even a place for them on the carb tops. It still starts fine (Arizona) all the time. In cold Chicago I used the choke as described on my Lusso without a problem. One tip is to keep the choke cable lubed well so it returns completely. I use the motorcycle dry lube...

Weber carbs and Pierce Manifolds?

I just tried to find Pierce Manifolds web site, but it seems not to be active; are they still in business? If not who does Weber carb repair?

The shim tool is the only way to insure that the "O" ring does not pull out of place during the cam cover installation. I have found that silicon spray on the shim works very well as a lube, but the WD-40 or grease may cause some tack on the rubber O ring if left too long and cause them to pull out....
