Re: GTO Engineering
I guess this has happened for years, i.e. Bentleys, Bugattis and vintage Alfa Romeos, but making a production line like they are means that okay cars will just disappear for good. Unfortunately I am no where near rich enough to save one, but the people on this site are doing great things with these ...

308 air cleaner spacers
Tom,
Wouldn't the spacers have been designed to go up the other way, i.e. step up not down, so they would be removed when the air cleaner was removed?
Just wondering

Re: Please let us know when the Alfa is safely through customs
But then I've heard of a restored Triumph TR6, in New Zealand, going for it's re-certification for being used on public roads, requiring it's fully restored chassis to be cut in half so they could ascertain that it was not rusty on the inside. I'm planning to get my GTV re-certified later this year ...

Re: Please let us know when the Alfa is safely through customs
Oh dear. Unfortunately I've heard of a Mustang, I think, where they started chipping away at perfectly good original sound deadening. Back in the old days, yes this would contain asbestos, but perfectly safe when contained like it was ... and I've heard of worse things but cannot remember the gory d...

Please let us know when the Alfa is safely through customs
I'm so worried for that Alfa. I've heard horror stories of cars being subject to destructive testing, all I believe at the owners cost.

So glad that professional panel shops have trouble
Tom, It is refreshing to read that your professional panel shop also has trouble getting panel lines, shapes right. I've spent years confusing myself with my Alfa 1750 GTV restoration, maki mg templates of other cars and getting home and for some reason things don't make sense. I've actually found t...

Re: Tom, impressed with your methodical problem solving
Tom, I was meaning all the fixes you do on your blog. No this will just work attitude, but a thorough investigation into the real cause, and then a tidy result. Unfortunately you are often fixing those, yeah that will do fixes that are so common on foreign cars. My Alfa 1750 GTV is/was full of them....

Re: Daytona exhaust
I think a lot of us are envious, but I also imagine that after time even these lovely old Ferraris sometimes become just cars that want to fight every effort to fix them :( I imagine that you have customers that are prepared to spend and do it right, more than the local car repair garage does ... bu...
