John; from the OD problems that I have seen, the OD switch on the front top of the trans seemed to be mostly at fault. Jumper it with a wire and listen for the solenoid sound when you pull the OD lever. This should be done with the ignition on and the engine off. If no go then trace the wiring and re...

John, that fault is usually the poor design and aging of the Marelli (red box), voltage regulator. If all of the engine ground cables are in place and the connections in the battery junction box on the fuse panel are clean and tight, then it is time to rebuild or replace the regulator. If origionali...

William, is the popping heard when you first step on the gas or when the engine is under load? Many Weber carbs may exibit some popping on a cold engine, but should not when warm. Timing, vac leaks, exhaust leaks, valve conditions, and carb jets can all contribute to this; let's eliminate them 1 by ...

Matt, Chris has some good points, so try some of them to see which color match looks best. The resistors, especially the tube style, turned darker with use due to the heat dissapated in them. Parker Hall also has the Marelli stickers for the coils. Jim

John, there is one in the 250 shop manual that I wrote years ago. If you cannot find a copy I can scan it and email it to you. Jim

Matt, I have been using Dupli- Color spray p/n DS-FM 150. Which is 1974 Ford dark Red. This is for the later square resistor coils. The tube resistor coils from the inside plug engines used a light flat red. Parker Hall has a rubber stamp to put the lettering on the tops of the square resistors. Jim

William, lube the shim with silicone oil, or light motor oil only, anything else will pull the seal out of place when you extract the shim. The early 250MM race cars had the shims in the wooden engine overhaul tool kit, the later tool rolls did not. Jim

As previously stated above the 330GT 2+2 series 1's had black dashes, you may have been thinking of some of the earlier 250 series cars that had dashes painted body color. My 250 Spyder had a black wrinkle dash, so earlier cars had a variety of finishes that do not apply to 330s. Refinishing dashs i...

William, the top bolts are also a special design and have the proper length and a deeper hex head. I think Parker also has these bolts. He an I worked on this years ago and he stocks them for this reason. If you get the bolt loose from the valve cover but cannot extract it, leave it loose and as you...

William, if this nut is not a deep nut, and just a regular size (thick) nut then you will need to use several modified wrenches and sockets to get it off. Try a small 1/4 inch drive socket wrench with a u-joint 10mm socket. The SnapOn guys have a very close u joint type socket that works well. The o...

Steve, as previous commented on by others above, first look at the oil pick up hose and the oil level in the sump. If all is OK then measure the main bearings with Plastigage, a simple way to check for wear. Looking at the bearing material will give you a fast idea of wear if copper is showing, but ...

William, NeverDull, the wool wadding alu cleaner polish has been a standard for ever with Borrani owners. It works well and can be purchased most anywhere. As for dulling, some of the "Mag Wheel" spray cleaners will almost destroy the bare Borrani finish. Keep it simple and only use proven products ...

Yale, never smoked a pipe or anything else for that matter!
As for the oil hose, try to just tighten the clamps and see if that stops the hissing.
