Re: 250 Pinion Bearing Installation
Cornelis,
Thank you for replying. I have tried to drive the bearing in with the method you described but to no avail. The tolerance is too tight for it to go. I am afraid to force it in fear of doing serious ($$$$$) damage. Tom, has Francios made this repair? If so what does he recommend?

250 Pinion Bearing Installation
I'm going through rebuilding of the rear axle assembly for my 250 and have come to a problem in the re-assembly process. I can not get the pinion shaft bearing at the gear end of rear axle gear housing reinstalled. Not wanting to force the issue and damage something I am asking for advice from someo...

Re: Motor Mount Nut Pitch -
I believe the pitch is 1.5. Try Metric & Multistandards for a source for this castle nut.

Re: High profile Ferrari nosebadge
In Ferrari's 1993 yearbook there is an excellent article on the chronology of the rectangular Ferrari badge. According to article the badge with the chrome backing plate was first used in mid 1960. This badge replaced the the type with the loose chrome backing plate. The Ferrari factory drawing in t...

Re: Horn Detailing
The compressor with the green fill cap is the early design of the Roadmaster compressor. I base this on the serial number of the cars I have seen with these horns on them. The compressors with the red oil fill caps I have noticed on Lussos, 275s and 330s. All of the green oil fill cap design compres...

Re: Coupe Rear Suspension and Phillips Head Screws
Tom, Thanks for reponding to my querry on the rear suspension installation. A couple of points in your description I need clarification on. In step (1) are you compressing the spring to flatten it with the same beam tool that was used to remove it in your 11/07 post? In step (4) I take it that you a...

Coupe Rear Suspension and Phillips Head Screws
Hi Tom, Your description of the PF Coupe and rear axle installation and springs reminded me of how some of my Calculus professors would solve a problem in class. They would get half way through the solution and jump to the answer leaving the students scratching their heads while he stood there smili...

PF Cab Seat Hinge Disassembly Help
I am in the process of having the seat hinges for my PF cab replated. But before they can be replated I need to take the hinges apart. They are the same type of hinges used on the PF coupe as shown in Tom's 10/15 post. I would like to get them apart without damaging anything. Has anybody taken their...

I got the wheel bears out of my front hubs. I used a hydraulic arbor press to push them out. Once out I cleaned and washed all of the parts. Out of curiosity I tried to fit the old bearings back in the hubs to determin if the old grease was the problem. They would not go back without using force. On...

250 Front Wheel Bearings
Does anybody know the correct proceedure for removing the bearings from the 250 front hubs? I have the retaining nut out of the back side but the bearings will not budge. When Tom redid his, Francios removed them but he did not say how they came out. Are they pressed out or pulled out?

Brake & Clutch Pedal Seals/Boots
Kerry, Dennis McCann shows on his web site that he has them under Ferrari part number 67232 at $46 each. Illustrations of these pedal shaft boots appear on Table V (page 167 Merrit) of the 250 owners manual and Tavola 25 of the parts book for same (illustration shows part on backwards). Hope this he...
