A modern option might be to find some GTE seat and do your own tropical version for summer usage?
Specialist trimmers should have the correct cloth.
They do come up every now and then, I guess unwanted by replica builders.
A new project now 4247 is complete !

Re: GTE Seat Covers
I guess, when buying new, it would have been smart to order ‘tropical spec seats’ with cloth centres.
I have seen this in SWB and I think Lusso 250s, certainly on 275s , but I can’t recall seeing it on a GTE.
Was it an option I wonder?

Re: 250 Oil and Water Temp Gauges
Thanks for the advise, I will test over the weekend.
If they are transposed I might just leave them be for now.
After all, I will know and nobody else ever drives the car !

250 Oil and Water Temp Gauges
Hi All, My oil temperature gauge is much more active than my water temp gauge. It quickly reaches temperature whilst the water gauge barely moves unless that car is very hot, and then only a little. This seems counter intuitive. Terry Hoyle suggested that the wiring may be transposed. What do you re...

Re: GTE Headliners
Ok , well it seem my rather beautifully trimmed fabric headliner is not factory standard.
On the other hand it is far too nice to change.
2837 GT's concours career maybe at and end.

GTE Headliners
At this years FOC UK concours I lost points for non original carpets and headliners. Carpets have been addressed in the 250 GTE Carpet kit thread. So let's look up and consider head liners here. The 2 lower pictures from 2837 GT show my lining, a beige felt like material constant with my interior be...

Re: 250 GTE Carpet Kits
Sorry, Tom I was responding to Tom Wilson's post where he says he has an aluminium plate to the side of the accelerator.
I was asking if it's similar to that pictured as part of the O'Rourke carpets pictured in my earlier post. It seems that might be standard for later cars.

Tom, your aluminium panel is it similar to the O'rourke metal plate pictured above?

Re: 250 GTE Carpet Kits
Here is picture of 2837 Gt (series1) carpets. Still not clear why the lost me points at the FOC concours. They have plastic protection which seems correct for early cars, a separate piece of carpet behind the pedals, the correct cut away around the pedals and so on. Clearly they aren't the original ...

Re: Tom's Party at Quail
Great to see everybody, Tom's party reminds me that behind the glitz and show of the week its essentially just about people and cars.
Thanks to Tom !

Re: 250 GTE Carpet Kits
Good to know, the plastic protection looks too cheap to be anything other than genuine.

Re: 250 GTE Carpet Kits
Thanks Tom,
My car does have the same pattern around the pedals as yours and the same separate section behind the pedals.
Do you know if yours ever had the clear plastic covering to side of the gas pedal? Was this standard I wonder?
I have seen it on a few cars.
Graham

Re: 250 GTE Carpet Kits
Recently my car was marked down at the FOC UK concours for non original carpets. I may seek to rectify this but have yet to find out what the issue was. The below show 3 pictures of driver side foot wells from various GTE. The bordeaux and blue carpets are from 4683 and 3079 (thanks to Suzie Pilking...
