The points do show signs of pitting so it sounds like I should also change the points in the distributors. Can this be accomplished with the distributors still mounted to the engine? Any tricks or pitfalls that I should be aware of? It seems this whole issue is now turning into a project? Coils...re...

Greetings... Do you have the original Marelli coils? The total resistance in the primary side should be about 3 ohms. Typically the resistance of the coil is 1.5 and the external resistor 1.5. If a resistor fails, bypassing it is a quick fix and will make a stronger sparkie until the higher current...

There must be a reason the resistor was by passed. Maybe a bad resistor? Looking thru the records of the car, there is a repeat hard start problem that is attributed to the battery disconnet on both occasions. I'm guessing that some mechanic did this to solve a repeat hard start problem without noti...

Hi Tom- I have removed the distributor caps and there are standard dual points in each of them. Wouldn't it fry the points in short order wired as it is? In your diagram I don't see where the condensors are wired in. Would I be better off with a Pertronix conversion? I have always thought the car fe...

Coils/Resistors Wiring

I decided I'd do a little engine bay cleanup and tune-up yesterday. The engine had started popping thru the exhaust recently on decel, and this was something new that began to pop up (Pun intended). I also was beginning to experience an occasional carb miss (lean intake pop) at low RPMs on accel. Ag...

Translucent Paint for Horns

I believe I have found a very close match to the red translucent paint used by the factory on the horns. I bought two cans of Frost Red Tamiya translucent paint in a spray can on line for $11 ($16 with shipping) and thought, what the Hell, I give it a try. This paint is actually for the clear polyca...

Air Horn Hose Routing

As you guys know, I went on a mission to repair my horns so they worked properly. Of course this turned into restoring the system to its' proper appearance. I detailed and repainted the compressor. I removed the horns in the nose area because someone while painting the interior nose area black, didn...

Keep fiddling with the angle. I tilt the filler about 45 degrees to the rear from directly side to side. I also put a rag around the filler area so when it spits up, the paint doesn't get gas on it. A long fill time just gives you more time to answer questions about the car. Well it's far from an i...

Filling with Gas

Anyone have trouble filling their 330s with fuel when utilizing the unleaded style nozzles at gas stations? My car acts as though it is full and keeps shutting off. If I turn the nozzle around a 180 degrees from its' natural fill position on the passenger side, partially lift up the rubber boot and ...

Okay, I've got them working. I'm not sure what I did as I didn't really find anything definitive. I removed the brushes and cleaned the contacts and then removed the 2 acorn nuts at the bottom to access the armature which I cleaned with a scotch bright pad. They appeared black in color, like they we...

It was nice meeting you John. Yea, too bad about the fuel pump, but it's fixed now. I hated to drive my Carrera as a substitute for sure.
