That car had very old paint on it before Owen bought it and there could have been some serious hidden rust and damage. Had the car been a Scaglietti junker in a similar situation the only thing holding it together would have bee the paint! PF cars are so well built, it is as though actual adults des...

Great color choice Owen, I am addicted to Blue Sera, Just painted a 246 GTS and a 512 BB that color. The shade looks much the same as my two cars. Amazing that the damage was so focused on that area, must be that the wheel took most of the impact as the sheet metal damage seems minor. Must have real...

I have a very inexpensive replacement for the entire angle drive. The Ferrari ones are NLA. Keep the Ferrari one on a shelf to fix when you have nothing better to do.

Hemi Cuda is not a rare car as was said earlier. I think that it is a shame that '57 Chevy's are not as sought after as they are probably more rare and way more of an American Icon. What makes a Cuda so famous?

The quote by Jay Leno is so true. Tom compared pulling the starter on the GTE and Mustang, let me say that it only takes 10 minutes to pull a starter form an XKE Jag, and it takes me 20 minutes to pull a Porsche 356 engine! Does it make sense that part of the "special" feeling of owning and driving ...

Labor of Love

Can anyone explain why everything, I mean everything takes so long to fix on Ferraris? Here is an example, I am trying to get a window regulator to work on a GTC, the cable is in terrible shape and the motor seems to turn with less speed than the passenger side. I remove the motor to clean the dry a...

Removing the liners isn't needed unless absolutely necessary. When I have pulled liners in the past I use loctite bearing retainer for installing the new one which seals any gaps and keeps the liner in place. As far as "decking" the engine block, this is a big no-no as well as shaving the head. Thes...

I paint 2-3 sets of Ferrari wheels a year and have painfully leaned some of the secrets. As far as welding, Mag welding rod is available and is so cool because of how light it is that is and I have had sucess welding major curb damage. Especially important is using the correct primer that etches and...

The one way check valves are #27 and #28, I am not exactly sure what #33 does but I have always guessed that it is some sort of vent that sticks up into the raised dimple in the top cap.

I would not know how to make a V-12 Ferrari engine better. Any V-12 engine, relatively small displacement with alot of power and when tuned correctly they pull from 700RPM to redline without a single hesitation. I have seen some poorly rebuilt engines that run very well which is testament to the ove...

Mustang motor cost$$

Tom, Great to hear what you are paying for the Mustang motor. I am always trying to figure out what an engine overhaul cost should be, $1000 per hole? I sent a 6 cylinder Mercedes-Benz 250SE engine to a company in CA who completely overhauled the engine, Dyno tested it(!) paid for shipping for $5800...

This is a difficult area but a little creativity with silicone can solve most problems. You want to apply the silicone and set your covers without clamping anything down. Wait for 1 hour for the silicone to set up a little and then clamp the nuts down. The silicone will form a "skin" so it can stay ...

I would guess that a dead battery can cause both 60amp Boxer alternators to overload the VR. Essentially, when a alt/gen can charge to max capacity, they go to "full field"
