250 GT/E: A-pillar trim pieces on Ebay
Hi, Did somebody here buy these?: ebay item 290693202678 - paste the number to search window to find to the item. I would love to get the number stamped on them to identify the car they were taken from. It seems to have been a GTE that sat out in a field for years and was parted out a few years back...

Re: 250 GTE Firewall fabrication
Has somebody made new mud protectors under the fenders? Or have good pictures how they look like? I have mine floting around in my garage, so given a little time I can take pics and measures. I am very happy this car will be saved. Too many unfinished projects get parted out these days, I'm so happ...

Why should sealing a double banjo bolt be any different from a single one? Search Ebay for double banjo bolts and you'll see it is not a very exotic solution!

Re: Bonnet Latch Problem
No, no I mean I've seen another "V" - a solid one added to the installation with another pin, so in the end there we ">V" and two pins. I would not file the lock. It likely won't work and then you have a modified lock evetually with more problems. But wait a minute, on (late) GTE's there is also a s...

Re: Bonnet Latch Problem
I remember seeing some cars with a V-shaped steel piece grafted onto the lock and an additional pin welded into the matching piece on bonnet, so when the lid is closed and the pin falls into the "V", the bonnet is centered and held in place by the installation. A clear indication of other people hav...

Re: Bonnet Latch Problem
Only now I came to think that I've also seen cars with a "V" welded on top of the lock and a matching pin into the bonnet. Always wondered what was going on, but obviously previous owners have experienced the same problem!

Re: Bonnet Latch Problem
Looking at my pictures PF Coupes have 8 rubber sutds - 3 on each side and 2 in rear of bonnet. On GTE there are 10, with 4 studs on rear edge . This might indicate that a problem was discovered when these cars were in production and they tried to solve it by adding more studs. A few suggestions: If ...

Re: Stick on weight removal
Small amount of heat might do the trick without any solvent needed. In any case it usually is a good start as solvents don't work very well as long as the tape is there!

Re: Water Manifold
Germans call stainless steel Edelstahl because it has many properties of noble metals. The real world outside my window has teached me that careless use of stainless can cause you many surprices in wet systems that cannot always be explain by the reactions explained your chemist/physics book they ga...

Re: Water Manifold
You must have huge trust in anti-corrosive detergents in cooling liquids to even think of mixing stainless with an aluminum castings that cost an arm and a leg. As I've said before, when you put stainless into a wet system, you never know what's going to happen. Best wishes, Kare
