Hi Fest,

Helicoils use square wire to form the threads while timeserts use a one piece insert. It's supposed to be a stronger way to repair threads.

Hi Tom (Treue), Bob Smith is probably considered one of the top Ferrari restorers in the U.S. and has a client list to prove it. He's very knowledgeable on Ferraris, and I don't doubt time-serting would be good insurance from blown head gaskets and worse failures, but you have to consider the probab...

RP, I've so far memorized one place on the Taconic State parkway where the State Troopers like to hide out, but there are plenty of spots still to find! The good thing, is once you get up to where my house is, there is a lot less speed enforcement. I know of a wrecking yard on 23 on the west side of...

Hi Guys, Thanks for all the well wishes! As one of my friends pointed out "I'm a project oriented guy," I am certainly looking forward to this new project! With all the experience I've gotten building my seats, I am considering making a custom matching Connolly cover for a child seat for the Ferrari...

Hi Guys, Ian levy sent me a picture of a pulley tool Aaron Master's designed for this job: http://www.tomyang.net/cars/pulleytool.jpg When "Fest" finishes the chain replacement, maybe he can write a "How To" for the "Tips" section of this site so we'll have a permanent place for this proceedure? For $1500 dollars, I would expect at least some of the trim pieces included. You may be the only person right now needing one of these front ends, so you may want to check a few more sources before committing. Isn't there a person FL that is making 250 Cab conversions from GTE chassis? I wonder what...

Hi Luke,

I knew you'd figure it out eventually! I think the window mechanism was designed by the Italian "Rube Goldberg!"

My left widow still doesn't wind up as well as my right window, but I can live with it!

Although we've spoken privately, I'd like to publically welcome another 330 America Owner to the site! I personally doubt 330 Americas came with the Series II nose, especially since they were the last of the Series III bodies produced, but I could be wrong. I'll wait until we see the repair sections...

Hi Tom,

Since I'm using retractors, when everything is retracted, it'll be a neater installation where I have the belts mounted. If the lower point is mounted by the seat rail, the belt will be seen hanging down when you open the door.

Does this make sense?

Everyone in the Ferrari business has stories about them. The business has changed quite a bit through the years and what people did to make a living can come back to haunt them. Even François has his detractors, but there is often two sides to every story. The only time there is concern if you begin...

Hi Luke,

It's pretty scary the vocabulary I picked up over the years! The part does not work like a woodruff key, but sure looks like one!

I think you got the idea.

Hi Luke,

There is a half moon piece that looks almost like a woodruff key that is held in place by the window escutcheon. If you can push the collar back, you should be able to get the key out anf the crank should slide out.

Hope this helps.

Although I'm very happy with my 330 America, I have always dreamed about owning a 250 Lusso. Unfortunately, even when I heard about the Lusso in NJ, I just didn't have that kind of money! It always seems like I'm chasing the tail of a that horse! The good thing is I got my 330 America, and I won't h...

Hi Tom,

Yeah they're pretty bulky, and the way the buckle comes across the seat, would eventually scuff the leather. After all the struggles I've been through with my seats, I would hate to have the seats get ruined by those meanacing buckles!
