The 365 BB is the reason I turned on to Ferrari's. I was in Junior High school when my Road & Track arrive with a spectacular Yellow and Black BB on the cover. One look at that cover and I was hooked! I always thought that I would get one some day, though my tastes have moved to dark blue with a tan...

This just goes to show how much work Tom does on the site without our knowledge. I can't imagine how much time he must spend on boring maintenance, just so we can chat with each other for free.

THANK YOU TOM!

Welcome to the ownership club David. Looks like you got a nice car. Please note that though this thread had a philosophical discussion about pricing, no one was able to come up with anything wrong with the car itself. That doesn't happen very often, so I would take that as a good sign! Maybe you can...

Does anybody know the owner of the Black Series I GTE with the license plate "Two 4 Road"? I saw it in the Ferrari lot at the Historic Races on Saturday, but was unable to locate the owner. It looks like he is from Long Beach, which is right down the road from me.

Zac - I'm going to try to get some time in on the car tomorrow and hopefully will be able to bring the samples of rubber to Monterey. How big a piece are you looking for?

Those should be no problem Zac. I will get you samples. Mine are not good enough to hold water everywhere, but most of the areas will make fine samples. Just kidding about farming out my car (back off Shaughnessy!). I am having too much fun trying to figure out this stuff myself. However, the offer ...

Zac - My car is in a state of disassembly such that I could easily help with the rubber samples. Let me know what you would like me to provide. Besides, I can benefit from your research, as I will need the rubber myself. Why do you need two sets? Is the rubber destroyed during the setting of the gap...

The GTE has the same thing. I have been told (by Tom Shaughnessy, among others) that it is for an emergency light. Apparently it has a long cord that plugs into this socket and can then be use to light your flat tire or malfunctioning engine. However, nobody has been able to show me one. It is a goo...

I dug up my restoration specialties catalog last night and found out it was from 2003. Their "new" catalog (2005) has something that looks like it may work. I am going to see if I can get a sample.

Did you actually get your fuzzy stuff there or do you just know them to be a good supplier? I have looked at their catalog before and was unable to find a match. I will look again, especially if you have found it there. I would assume that my car being a Series III would use the same stuff as yours.
