The bearing preload is set by a stack of shims that are on the end cap. Unless you have changed something, i.e. new gears/bearings/housing, you should not have to change the shim stack. I would clean everything and install just the worm gear. With the four end cap bolts tight, there should be zero e...

It sounds like there is a problem with the ignition switch. The power to the coil should come from the terminal #15 on the switch. If the switch is bad, it is the same a one used on a BMW 2002.

The worm gear on the ZF steering box is made out of hardened steel. There is no way to reposition the gear. If it is worn, the only option is replacement. Roelofs http://www.roelofsparts.com/ sells new worm and sector pin kits. I have installed two of these kits and they are excellent. The parts are...

One more thing, make sure that you use EPDM hose that it compatible with brake fluid. If you use ordinary rubber fuel hose it will sweat brake fluid and soften/degrade over time.

Sorry, but Ferrari never used braided hose on the brake fluid lines. It should be smooth black rubber hose with black oxide plated spring-type hose clamps. See your owners manual for a good photo of what was originally used.

Kare,
The later cars have the voltage regulator mounted in a different location. That is why your cover has no bump to clear the regulator. If you send me your email address, I can send you a photo of the fusebox from 4893gt, and you can see the difference.

Yet another 250GTE barn find surfaces!

One of our shop buddies has found another complete, possibly running 250GTE barn find.
Anyone want to guess who has scarfed it up?

Big deal going down at the pig roast!

Luke,
We have Dennis Etchevary at Norman Racing in Berkeley make those water pipes for us all the time. Email me for his phone number or call me at Patrick Ottis. After the new pipe is made, we have it plated using electroless nickel.
