Well, I knew it was too easy when I spoke to Moss Motors. The rubber arrived over the weekend and, yes, it was not the right profile. More like an equalateral triangle with the left and right sides slipping on the overrider. Much bigger and more obtrusive than the "J" profile of the rubber on the ca...

rubber Trim
Kerry: Thanks. When I looked at the Lyle Tanner rubber trim page, I thought that the grill seal looked just like what I needed. But, when I called them (I bought the hood and trunk seals from them) the guy on the phone asked Lyle and was told they didn't have the trim I was looking for. I guess the ...

Rubber Trim
Rudy: Just spoke to Moss Mostors. Incredibly pleasant and easy to deal with. "oh yeah, we've got that. 39 inches worth for about $5 plus shipping."
Thanks very much.

Thanks Rudy - that sounds like the right stuff. I will give them a call (and not overtighten the overriders). Michael

Hi Sam. It's not the bumperettes - I got those from Mike Dunn. Beautifully made. Its the "U" shaped kind of tubing that goes between the vertical bumper section and the main bumpers. No mention of this on the Lyle Tanner site which has great identification of different rubber trim pieces and when I ...

Source for some rubber trim
My winter project has now become the spring project and hopefully will end before June. While we were redoing the floors and the exhausts, I thought that I might as well rechrome the bumpers and replace some rubber. I have gotten the trim for the doors, hood and trunk, and the rubber inserts for the...

I am in the midst of replacing the exterior floor panels on both sides. The rust that was very evident was in the back outer part of each side. But, when we removed the panels it was clear that three of the four of the panels were badly rusted. The much hated fiberglass was intact in three of the fo...

contribution
Since I wouldn't have my car if it wasn't for this site (one of these days I will post the story), it's only fair to make a contribution. My check is already in the mail. Thanks Tom.

Jimmy: On question 1& 2) thanks. On question 3) THANKS again. And overall, my wife who read your response over my shoulder is in awe and she doesn't know a thing about cars. I really appreciate your answers. BTW, I also just got a copy of yyour book from Amazon. I am sure that it will be worn and gr...

Hi. I spoke to the folks at GT Parts and they were helpful. Yes they do exchange the voltage regulators. BUT... What kind of regulator do you have and as long as you are at it, it would be really good to know what alternator you have as well.. A reasonable question. Today I found out the following. ...

Thanks Tom. I'm back in New York, so the look will have to wait until next weekend. Hopefully, you are correct.

Thanks for the suggestions. Actually, after an earlier electric problem I followed another threads advice about cleaning the fuse contacts and spent maybe an hour or so carefully removing the fuses one by one, dremel tool cleaning the fuseblock contacts and lightly sanding the fuse contacts and then...
