Re: Leaf spring shackle bolts
Hallo Hein, I just took apart my GT 330 rear axle and suspension. According to Tom Yangs pictures and restauration hints I am pretty sure that 250GTE and 330 GT have similar shackles. Upper bolt is M16x1,5 with a silentblock mounting D14/44 Length 65/70. Lower bolt is M 14x1,5 with an inner sleeve L...

5-speed transmission silent block
My transmission rubber silent block is pretty worn and needs replacement, (#8741). Unfortunately in the parts manual I cannot find the part number because sketches only show the earlier 4speed, which has a different support. Does any body know the Ferrari part ID? Does anybody know a source for this...

Re: rear diff leaks
John, thanks for your reply.
My rear axle is apart either. My problem is not the flange area with the studs at the diff case. In my case the oil went all through the axle tube and leaked at the hub, even when the car was sitting for long time

Re: rear diff leaks
My diff and the joint face to the axle flange was tight, but oil was leaking at the hubs even after 1 year of no movement of the car when it was jacked on the lift. Now I am really wondering and I have only one explanation for my problem. The inner oil room is sealed by the felt seal to the shafts. ...

Re: Dunlop Caliper rebuild questions.
Tom, thanks a lot for your always very quick response. As reworking the pods and calipers my next question occurred : brake disk thickness. In the manual I read that regrinding for a maximum of 1 mm material removal is allowed. I checked all the manuals, but there is no information about the origina...

Re: Floor pans
Tom, thanks for your offer for the belly pan pictures. I appreciate if you could send them. It is not urgent, as you see in the forum I have a lot of other work to do. But when you are right now rebuilding one it might not be to much extra time for you taking some pictures. Thanks in advance! Dieter

Re: Dunlop Caliper rebuild questions.
Hello wrenching guys, I am quite new at this forum also this is my first Ferrari I own. Because of some skills and not a big wallet I try to repair as much as I can at my Ferrari (like Tom, when he started with his 250). For this your forum is very very valuable. As I now do some overhaul and rebuil...

Re: Cross Reference for Clutch Master and Slave
When changing it once in 10 years its not more expensive. Also I expect to have less corrosion inside the brake cylinders as this fluid is not hygroscopic. So I follow your comments and will use the silicone fluid as I do not intend to do any racing with this car.

Re: Floor pans
Kerry, thanks for your response. Now I know what is missing there. Luckily the mud guards are still there. By the way dry ice blasting is the perfect way for the aluminum fender mud guards to get rid of the tar coating without deformation. For all this work on the total underfloor and seperate mudgu...

Kerry,
thanks for your picture and detailed answer. I registered your website already, which adds some more information about the car´s history. Now in wintertimes I may have time to go through your registry to look for more german owners.
