Re: int. 50th anniversary Meeting in Netherlands
Not a red car amongst them! That's good to see.

Re: SoCal Vintage meet
Maybe you could get Zac to change his name to Tom just to clear up any confusion?

Ha - I recognise some of those cars and characters! I hope you didn't let Peter Pless, Rob Bailey and Carl Jones anywhere near the Rally

Re: Wheel trim rings
I bought something very similar looking (for the 5 spoke 'daytona' wheels) from Maranello Classic Parts for about £28 each as a price comparison. Don't know if they are the same size - hard to tell from pics - but it's worth trying them for a price at least.

Re: Progress on Brakes
We've had quite a few problems with 'rebuilt' Dunlop calipers from early 105 series Alfas failing recently. Piston size seems to be very critical, as well as surface treatment, so check it all carefully when you get it back together Tom!

Re: 12009 nearly there...
For interest, the place doing the car is called 355 Restorations and they are based at Dunsfold Airfield, also otherwise known as the (in)famous Top Gear Test Track. The guys there are doing work for GTO Engineering and have just got a couple of jobs in from DK Engineering as well. They also paint t...

Re: 12009 nearly there...
Also while I was there I saw this nice pair of 275GTS and 275 GTB/4, both owned by the same guy in for some paint. The cars looked pretty good to me, so I'm not sure what they are going to do on them. Also in the metalwork area was this silver 365 that they have just started on. It's #13405 and has ...

12009 nearly there...
Went and visited the 365GT today and it's nearly ready to hit the road again! Would be ready next week, but we'll be in Monaco for the Historic Grand Prix, so it will have to wait until the week after  You can see some pics of the progression of the body rebuild/repaint here: http://picasaweb.g...

Re: Visit to Ferrari Classic Parts
Mostly the stuff has come from Ferrari itself. For many years a couple of guys in the parts section at Maranello Concessionaires (basically worldwide agents for RHD countries from about 1959 through to the 1970s) used to collect up old parts and take them off Ferrari's hands. Ferrari SpA wasn't real...

Re: Visit to Ferrari Classic Parts
Hi Tom The guys there were keen to get across the point that they are happy to work out deals for people as well. Obviously they are in business to make some money, but they are willing to take a 'long view' on things and look at pricing where they can. May be worth contacting them for a comparison ...

Visit to Ferrari Classic Parts
Hello all We had a local Ferrari club section visit to Maranello Concessionaires Service Centre and the Ferrari Classic Parts section today. The service centre was basically full of modern stuff, but the Classic Parts area was interesting again! They have sorted a lot more stuff out from the last ti...

Re: 'Daytona' wheels
I'm not sure if it's for a 'genuine' GTO, but someone is spending a lot of dollars on it. They were playing with a new dry sump system on the motor that they had got from the Netherlands I believe and were having to 'reengineer' it a bit. Working on the Goodwood pics at the moment. Will get them up ...

Re: 'Daytona' wheels
Hi all - thanks for the tips to date. Main query at this stage is regarding the 'chrome' plates that cover the bolts that hold the hub sections together. Have they been remade or do people replate them. Ours are quite corroded in places and I don't know how well they will come up if we take them to ...
