Hi Fest, Don't laugh, but I think minvans are the best in package design for hauling stuff. I feel that people buy SUVs because they're cooler to own than a minivan, but they can't haul nearly as much stuff as a Grand Voyager, or Astro Van. The argument that they need 4WD is crap because they hardly...

Hi Bluecat49, There's a great thread a while back on this topic: http://www.tomyang.net/cars/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=46&highlight=rajah Chris Coios did a great explaination of the process, and I should put it in the "tips" section. Restoration Supply is the way to go for these parts, and will be a lo...

Another thought is to find someone willing to go to Danchuk in person and try to get them to sell us some uncut panels. They are located in Santa Ana, CA. Is there anyone who lives out there willing to go there as an ambassador to 2+2 owners in need?

Hi Art, No truck is going to be perfect, but this one is going to serve my purposes fine! With the Northeast salt, the most important thing is to find a truck without a rusty frame. Walt agreed to replace the master cylinder, and the pinion seal for no extra charge, so I should have a truck that wil...

Thank you EVERYBODY!!! It's been a crazy couple of days, and it should stay like that for a few more, but I'm savoring every minute! I wish I could personally thank you all, but I feel the unbelievable compulsion to spend the time looking at Ellie's sleeping face! The word at work is Letterman was k...

Hi Matt, How much does it cost (or how many hours does it take) to replace valve guides? Not an easy answer. Worn guides require the heads to be removed. Sometimes they get stuck, and require more time and a head puller to take off. http://www.tomyang.net/cars/headpuller.htm New guides should get ne...

Hi Rob, 67000 Km miles is about 40K miles. Ferrari valve guides tend to need replacing by 50K miles. Some people have gotten more mileage on their engines, but on average, they last about 50K miles. With the modern materials, they will last longer than their original guides. I wouldn't spend that ki...

Hi Will, Wow! You done a lot of thinking on this one, and I'm embarrased to say that I have done a similar amount of research on my wheels and tires! I think he "32" or the "42" designations have something to do with a British measurement of the hubs, but I hope someone can help me on this. Another ...

I'm not the least bit surprised. The world feels that anything labeled "Ferrari" is worth a lot of money! A friend of a friend shops garage sales, and whenever he asks for a price on something, and it's rediculously overpriced, he responds, "Think of my offer when you're packing that up tonight!" Fo...

Hi Tom, If you don't mind spending a little more money and time, and want the extra insurance, go with the timeserts. Bob's clientel tend to leave no expense or proceedure spared, but it may not be necessary IMHO. If I had the unlimited funds like those owners, I would have probably spent a lot more...
