Tom, Sears part number 094443 3/4 inch slide bar handle, $28 and change. Although I own a lot of Snap-On tools old Sears still has great stuff for the money.
I'll have Patty to put this whole thing on the website this weekend.

Tom , you are correct, if you use a pipe as an extension on torque wrench you'll eventually damage the wrench. The only time I ever use a pipe is on a 3/4 ratchet or even safer on a 1/2 or 3/4 inch flex handle or extension bar as some call it. The extension I made for the tool I use is a 3/4 slide b...

A couple of things to consider, I have had wheel nuts on Ferraris so tight that even with pipes on flex handles were a problem getting them off. Hammering on the wheel nut can apply too much torque and it's never equal wheel to wheel. If you take a 1/2 inch torque wrench and extend the length out fr...

Tom, thanks again, I had a great time. Glad to hear you made to the event, let me know what you found on the valve train. I had a great ride with Mark, we even stopped at Steamtown to look at some massive steam locomotives, if you haven't seen one in person they are just amazing. Great seeing and me...

John, here's what I can tell you about the Dunlop calipers: 1. The center pin fits inside the piston and actually causes the piston to return after application. The piston seals are square cut and don't provide piston return. Most newer caliper piston seals are cut on angle and return the piston. Ke...

Ed, my friends at Mamocks usually charge between $200 and $300 for a rebuild. However, until they inspect the alternator they won't know what's wrong, if there is more to restore then obviously the costs go up. Send your regulator with the alternator. It is possible to retrofit a solid state regulat...

Congratulations Admiral!!! You deserve the award more than anyone. In my humble opinion, this is what car collecting is all about, the long term ownership and provenance, the "hands" on restoration and pride of ownership. I hope one of the Ferrari magazines writes a story about you and your Mondial....

I believe the outside valve stem protector was for wheels with inner tubes. The protector actually keeps the valve stem from moving around too much and puncturing the stem. I have a customer with a 57 300SL roadster with the Rudge knock offs, and Mercedes has these plastic stem protectors just for t...

Hi John, I just had to go back and look again, using a VOM, both sets of points overlap each other, so when one set is about to close the other is opening. The points are closed more than they are open. Timing is everything, the clearance of the points is the difference of working and not working. D...
