Dirty cars

Thanks Tom for bringing up a subject that is a sore spot for me.We do see more of the dirty car deals these days and to my mind it is nonsense.I am a nobody in the Classic/Ferrari car world so coming from me this sentiment is low value but from you a real player, with "cred" in the game, it means som...

Re: 250GT Distributor Caps

Hi John, since Tom Y mentioned it I think that he means that an idealized situation would have the centerline of the rotor electrode dead center on the terminal of the cap at the spark event. I ask Tom to scold me if I have not added any clarity. As far as dwell goes ,that is the # of degrees of shaf...

Re: Rear Pillar Decal on GTC

Steve: DO NOT remove the decal!!! I have done some research and have found you have a very special GTC. I now know that the decals were personally put on the car by Enzo's brother's wife's nephew's fourth cousin, eight times removed. Not only that, but the decals were dipped in wine to apply them t...

Re: Daytona Driveability Problem

Hi Dyke, is it possible that one or more of the carbs is off just a bit or needs a modification on the float setting? Thinking that this happens just on a hill, could one or more of the carbs fuel level be low in the bowl such that it is ever so slightly starved while pointed uphill? Mike

Re: 250 GTE Tire recommendations

Hi Steve,I say go with the more current tire as long as you get the right look. My feeling is that these cars need the period sidewall profile to look good/correct. Good luck,Mike

Re: Daytona Driveability Problem

Hi Dyke, any chance you have brake drag? One or more of the wheels or E brake. Can the car be pushed with little effort on level ground and can the drivetrain be rotated with ease by hand? Good luck,Mike

Re: Update: fuel delivery problem, 250 GTE

Don't know if this applies but I think I remember a vexing fuel delivery problem on this forum being traced to a fine crack in the pick up tube in the tank. It sucked air and caused a starvation problem. Just a thought.Good luck,Mike
