Re: Mixed Feelings

There is an award that is presented occasionally at the FCA National Meet called the Gilbertsen Award, named in honor of Ed Gilbertsen, for over 25 years the Chief FCA Concours Judge. The recipients embody "Ferraris are meant to be driven" because they use their cars as often as possible. The nomine...

Re: Mixed Feelings

Hi Tom, That is sad but understandable news. All of us only rent our cars for awhile, and I know your passion means that the new owner must have met your high standards to have bought the car. I am sure it will be in caring hands. We love to "play" with a vintage Mercedes too, so don't be a stranger...

And here are 3 of the C/4's (I apologize to whomever I missed). Note the difference in look between painted and regular bumper.

Re: Who is going to Radcliffe?

Congratulations to Tom and Richard for another great Party! I think I counted over 120 mostly vintage cars...Richard, you are going to have to rent the place next door next year! Good food, wonderful lectures, fine weather, lots of friends, what more do we need! I was only sorry my C/4 did not make ...

Re: RIP David E. Davis

I cut my teeth on his magazines too. Sad news. The amazing thing about him was he could write and talk about a broad array of topics, not only cars. A true man of the world. He anticipated the appetities of a car-crazy nation before any others.

Steve,

Take it to work every now and then, particularly if a meeting is out of the office. A ding or two won't hurt and the car will be happier. I often use mine when I have client meetings out of town.

Re: FCA 2011 - Savannah

My wife and I are flying down on Wednesday, staying at the Mansion on Forsyth Park across the river from the Westin (my wife wanted a Spa hotel & no room @ the Westin). We are going to spend some time driving around the area sightseeing (may retire someday and Savannah is a possibility) so will prob...

Re: I have siiiiiiiiiiiiined !!!

i am good for a round of drinks, and penannce has been recited. Not to mention that a bigger garage will bring something vintage back, one day. A C4, a 246 Dino, or even an Espada (yes, I am the one person who likes them) will lure me back. For now...a Caddy will not make me miss carbs and drum bra...

I am signed up for PBIR Thursday (love to watch the drag strip guys in the background) and the Concours Saturday. Skipping dinners to hang at Boston's with my daughter. Tom, what time is the seminar on Thursday?

Re: Cavallino 2011

I'll be there Thursday evening until Sunday staying with daughter in Delray Beach. Planning to spend Friday @ PBIR. May go to the Yacht Hop, and definitely Saturday @ Concours. Sorry Tom, cannot drive because the car broke down similar to last year - engine fine, no power to the wheels. I have not h...

Re: GTO at the track

Tom, You the man! It sounds so much better than my C/4 did @ Road America. Congratulations and thanks for sharing with us. Andrew S.....Many tracks in the US do have noise restrictions too. Lime Rock comes to mind. Although built in an old gravel pit in the far northwestern corner of Connecticut, th...

Re: stupid is as stupid does

My solution is shown below. Tom Kizer A new cottage industry! Well done Tom - the engineer peaks through. When we first started our company we had an office in the cramped financial district. In the garage we had to use there was a Rolls Royce that parked in the same spot each day. He had a setup o...
