Boy oh boy the fun of telling your internal numbers - 4969, the second 330 America built (and I think the 330 America right before Tom's), has a motor number of 1862 / 62 E. On the build sheet the E is not included and the motor is listed as a 209/B. How does the 209 / B differ from a real 209 engin...

I'm with Yale - I used Leatherique on my interior and the amount of dirt that was removed amazed me. Also, no odor and water soluble meant that I could do this in my apartment (I wouldn't really recommend this as the preferred method though). It's worth a call to the Leatherique folks - who are help...

Actually, I got the stuff night before last and it looks quite good to me but I am just a beginner. It will go to Tom to do the parting and distribution as soon as I can hook up with him. I am anxious to do a next to the real thing comparison on my car this weekend. I expect that there will be a pic...

Well, as you may have guessed the order fell into the great black hole of their moving They are going to give me a call and let me know what the latest ETA is. Lest you start to think that they are not reliable, Yale did get the material for the hood liner within days, as they promised. Michael

As of yesterday, I have given up hope of having 4969 appear in public next weekend. I am planning to be there Sunday and look forward to meeting all of you. See you then. Michael

I called the manaufacturer on Thursday and if I don't hear by mid-week I will call again. They were in the middle of moving a trillion yards of vintage upholstery when I placed the order, so they did ask for patience - which I am learning more about since buying 4969.

The good Lord willing and no creeks rising

As Yale said, I am planning to be there. The last conversation with Francois was the he would do something to allow me to get there. It will probably be the first outing for a car that I bought in late September in California and was delivered to Francois on October 10th. Until we hit the spring (li...

Hi - My guess is that I will have the only "Maronne" 2+2 there - in Crayola colors that's really a dark chocolate brown. The interior is a very California sun toasted saddle that looks like a buttery yellow. Our house is undergoing major renovations and the builder is hoping to have us back inside (...

I have been talking to SMS Auto Fabrics in Portland Oregon. I sent them a jpg of the trim and they sent a sample of a chromed mylar fabric that is sort of the inverse of what is used to trim the lower outside seat. When I return to New York I am planning to send them a real sample of the fabric to s...

Ok now that Yale has given you some details, let me fill in where we are. The dashboard had been removed to replace the shrunken cover (see Tom's post about this) Frank is now working on recovering it. When I saw that the interior was almost in a gutted condition I figured that this was the moment t...

Well, since I am in the initial stage of preservation / restoration I can be counted on to buy and put some of this stuff away for my car as well - so now it's four. And, we should probably start to look around for the chrome like vinyl or whatever trim panel material that is on the seat bottom kick...

Thanks for all of the advice - I have been educated, amazed and amused. All of the advice will be taken very seriously. Kerry, I contacted the folks that you bought your lift from and they have been very quick and thorough in their replies. The architect and builder are figuring out whether we have ...

Kerry thanks for the info - you have asked questions that I hadn't given much thought to. I will look at the links and give some thought to how it will be used. On first blush I think the asymetric is more appropriate.
