Re: Oil leak at GTC axle

I have been following this post with interest even though I own a GTE. However the one item that pops out is the mention of a cloth filter on the drain plug. Since there is no flow, what would the filter do? It would seem that a magnet epoxied to the drain plug would at least capture magnetic debris...

Re: Bleeding the brakes on a Daytona

Sounds like you need to start loosening fittings closest to the master cylinder and see where the flow stops.

Re: Tom Terrific

Hi Tom: With this car and the two in the Gooding auction, did that make 25 cars in Monterey for the weekend?

Re: Rebuilding Daytona Rear Calipers

Have you tried to compress the pistons in to try and break them free then blow them out? PB Blaster inside the caliper may help also.

Re: Intake Manifolds

How about reverse assembly? Fit the air cleaner bottom to the carbs, then the fuel line to the carbs and then fit the manifolds to the carbs and the heads loosely without tightening anything to final and seeing how it fits together? Assuming you are using all the same parts, some combination will be...

Re: 330 ignition timing

The 12AM does not sound right, are you sure that it is not 42? As for the point set, when the rotor is pointiing to #1, the point set that is just opening is the one that is firing that cylinder. Hope this helps.

Re: removing old ansa stickers from exhaust tips......

Do NOT use a scotchbrite pad on chrome. A friend had the exhaust tip on his flatbotttom ski boat rechromed and while cleaning up he attempted to polish the tips with chrome polish and a scotchbrite pad. He found that the result was removal of the chrome right down to the bronze casting!

Re: Is my relay bad?

Geodavky: The purpose of a relay is to serve as a means of switching a larger load than the switch can handle. It does this by using 12 volts applied to the relay to close the heavier contacts which in turn carry a heavier load than the switch is rated to carry.

Re: Is my relay bad?

Hi George: If you have a mulit VOM meter, energise the relay with 12 volts and read the resistance across the relay contacts. Should be near zero. If there is a lot of resistance, the voltage will not be carried across the contacts. Bob
